1 Description of the study area

Sitio Camansi of Brgy. Fatima (Site A) and Sitio Pangantanan of Brgy. Paciencia (Site B), located in
Tobias Fornier, Antique with the coordinates of Site A, 10 degrees 28’ 32’’N 121degrees 55’52’’ E with a
land of 2.6 ha, and Site B with the coordinates of 10 degrees 30’ 17.3 N 121 degrees 55’ 49.5” E with a
land of approximately 1.5 ha. This is one of the few areas that are inhibited by many flora and fauna.
The area is placed with fascinating geologic features at the top of the mountain. The two sites have a
population of within 100 human settlers living far away from town of Tobias Fornier. The site was
randomly selected for sampling particularly its open forest and tall grassland. The Site A is
predominately known for its forest that is planted with mixed of tall and majestic trees such as
mahogany, mango tree, Spanish plum tree and many more, with tall shrubs and herbs that can also be
found in the open forests. The Site B has a land that covers the bristling grassland which has
predominate tall grasses of buffalo grass rather than trees.

The researchers applied the design used by (Young, 2017), (Lamarre, Molto, & et. Al, 2012), and (Sabu &
Shiju, 2012) for the plotting of their sites and using the traps.
