Harsha
The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre ● Took place in Amritsar, North India on
the 13th April 1919 (202 years ago).
● There was a big crowd assembled
there to celebrate a festival and the
British Soldiers took advantage
because amidst the crowd some
famous personalities who were also
some strong rebels were also
present.
● They closed all the gates and locked
everyone in there and carried out a
huge massacre. Most of the people
died and this place has been now
taken as a monument and on this
wall which is the front side of the Park
it took place in, has the bullet mark
proof of the shooting & massacre that
took place.
● It is now a very famous memorial.
The Taj Mahal ● Constructed by Shah Jahan,
The Mughal Emperor when
they had conquered India.
● It was a tomb constructed out
of marble as a memorial for his
beloved wife - Mumtaz Mahal
● This has been constructed like
a palace and he got it
constructed at such an angle
that he can see it through the
windows of his palace where
he lived many miles away.
● Constructed in 1632 till 1653
● Made of Ivory white marble
● The area of this is estimated to
be around 17 hectares
The Thanjavur Periyavur Temple ( The Tanjore Big
Temple)
● Constructed by Raja Raja Cholan
( Chola Dynasty)
● It is located in Tamil Nadu ( South
India)
● It is 1012 years old
● It was built focusing mainly on the
deity “Shiva”.
● One of the largest and oldest temple
in India that has the most intricate
forms of architecture
● It has been built on the bans of the
famous river Kaveri (Cauvery)
