Purpose

Create a timeline of the conquest of the Inca by Francisco Pizarro.

In this assignment you will conduct research and use what you have learned to create a timeline.

Assignment Instructions
Step 1: Gather materials and necessary information.

a) Review your suggested research sites:


 What Led to the Fall of the Inca Empire?

 The Incas Fight for Survival

b) Take good notes of important events and dates in the conquest of the Inca by Francisco
Pizarro.

c) Ask your teacher whether you will be using presentation, drawing, word-processing, or artistic
software to develop the timeline. You may also be able to use a large piece of paper or
timeline board, but be sure to ask your teacher if these materials are acceptable.

Step 2: Consider the required elements of the timeline.

a) Begin your timeline with the arrival of Pizarro and end with the fall of the Inca to Pizarro and
the conquistadors.
b) Include in your timeline a brief description of each event, including the date when it occurred
and a picture.
c) Use time intervals of 1, 5, or 10 years.
d) Make your timeline easy to read.

e) Construct your timeline on a computer, on a tablet, or by hand using a ruler or straightedge,
