Ahmedabad: Ajay is 16 and a Class X student. But, let him loose in cyberspace and he turns a millionnaire, leaving hundreds of credit card holders across the globe bankrupt. Ajay was picked up from Mumbai on Thursday and detained by Gujarat Police in a hacking case that left them baffled with its sheer global spread. This St Anns student from Mulund and son of an employee of a textile firm who learnt the ropes of hacking online marketing websites and siphoned off money paid by cyber buyers into his own account. The racket surfaced when Ahmedabad crime branch sleuths investigated a case of hacking of a popular online shopping site and arrested three boys in the city They .

turned out to be a part of Ajays gang. Investigations revealed that his network spreads across MumSameer Mahoolkarbai,

Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. His mentors live in the US, Vietnam and other countries. Ajay gave instructions to Wahid Khan, a resident of Kalupur, and Shahid Khan and Haadi Ghoghai

of Juhapura, till they were arrested on Thursday. Ajay had taught them to create fake accounts and crack into others credit card accounts to make big bucks. His prowess in hacking high security and government websites let Ajay into a hacking community, which gave him access to a huge database of credit card Customer Verification Value (CVV) numbers of prominent banks across the globe. Ajays tools include his laptop, a communicator and a cellphone. But, police say, Ajays PC has no data and he has covered all his tracks. All evidence available is from Shahid Khans laptop which has folders and files that hide cracked passwords and IP addresses of internet domains that were hacked into for fraudulent financial transactions. Ajay got in touch with online

fraudsters during gaming and was hooked on to it fast. He has told the police that after connecting with international hackers in the US, Vietnam, and other countries, he spent over 15 hours a day on the computer trying to figure out how it worked. He has a database of over 4,000 international credit card holders, their CVV numbers and expiry dates, said a senior crime branch official. He fooled the cyber police by using proxy servers for illegal transactions. After making money illegally at the online shopping giants expense for over four months, he got in touch with Shahid Khan and Wahid Khan in Ahmedabad and let them in to some secrets of the fraud, said the official. Bhavnagar: Post-mortem of a dead bullock confirmed anthrax as the cause of death in Bagdana village in Bhavnagar district. After the postmortem report, which was ordered after six cattle died of a mysterious disease, the district administration is taking steps to prevent its outbreak in animals as well as humans. I have declared the area anthrax-prone and all precautionary measures to prevent its outbreak are being taken, said district collector, Pradip Shah. Ten teams of veterinary doctors from Gandhinagar and Rajkot have reached Bagdana. Twenty-eight teams of doctors have examined villagers. None of them have been detected with the virus, said Shah. Weve ordered a special anti-anthrax vaccine from Bangalore, which is due to arrive soon, he added. It will be administered to the 10,000-odd cattle in and around Bagdana village. Inputs by Sandesh

together to achieve our first of two big goals. The second goal will hopefully be accomplished in November, he says. The young NRGs now look forward to getting thousands of people across the country involved in the political process. One great strength of the campaign is that senator Obama found support from people who have never participated in politics. Many people only tune in when its down to final selected candidates, says Bhatt. I will spend time registering new voters, building unity within the Democratic party and speaking with voters about Obama, says Patel. I will do everything within my capacity to convince people that senator Obama is the right choice, come November, says Desai. Whether its door-to-door canvassing or fundraising, to me, the task at hand has not changed. That has always been for Senator Obama to win the Presidency, not just the Democratic Party nomination and I am confident that we will get there, he adds.

he tragedy of keeping up with the Jones is, 'we spend money that we do not have, to get things that we do not need, to impress people we do not like'. What do we do for the people we love? Not enough. In a world that is more connected, the tragedy is that we communicate even less. Parents with teenagers will surely agree that we spend more time engaging with the TV, than we spend talking to our children. We may justify this by asking, 'why should we spend time with children who value their friends more than they value us?' Parents need to see the importance of spending quality time with their children, and to be there for them as they negotiate some of life's changes and challenges. This is the time that they need all the help they can get, even though teenagers act like they do not need any help. Career choices, exam pressure, unstable relationships, and the need to move from one stage to another - teenager to adult - are all reasons why children get confused, and sometimes depressed. How do we realise whether we are spending enough time with the family? Are there any red flags that we can watch out for? Today's children are open enough to speak their minds. Do not treat some comments lightly - such as, 'are you really

even concern them. Children find this strange and escapist, and will respond accordingly. If this stage is not addressed adequately, the child's self esteem gets messed up, and they lose their self worth. Loss of interest in things that are normally liked by them is a clear sign of change, and possibly indicative of greater amount of change to come. WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT THIS? Do not evaluate things from the benchmark reference of your time as a teenager. Things have changed dramatically since then. Call a family council. Seat all the members of the

Discuss openly, and get a solution that is agreeable for everyone. Accidents or medical emergenies can strike anyone at any time. If effective medical care is promptly delivered during this critical period, many lives could be saved. Read on to learn the importance of efficient, prompt medical assistance

reality is far grimmer. If there is an accident, most of us prefer not getting involved. If we do try to help the victim by rushing him to the nearest local hospital, the doctor there may refuse to treat the patient and tell us to transfer him to a government hospital. Many victims die because simple medical problems (such as bleeding) are not treated on time. Doctors know that during a medical emergency (for example, a traffic accident or a heart attack), there is a 'golden hour' which can literally spell the

distressingly common cause of preventable death in India. Given the state of our roads and our civic sense, this problem is going to keep on increasing unless we tackle it efficiently. in the process. Not that large private hospitals are much better. Many do not even have a well-equipped casualty ward (ER); and even if they do, they refuse to take on the patient, until payment is first made. It's true that doctors have an ethical obligation to treat any patient especially during an emergency. However, many refuse to do so. The sad truth is that many often don't have the expertise or equipment to do so or they are worried about police hassles. Accident and emergency cases are often medicolegal cases, and these entail the burden of a lot of paperwork. While some are worried about who will pay for this medical care (which can be expensive), others are fearful that if they try to help and the patient dies, the mob will vent their anger on the doctor and beat him up. It's often much easier for the doctor to do nothing. Dr Aniruddha Malpani

Marilyn Monroe, deemed as one of the sexiest women of all times, was a size 16! The interpretation of beauty by the media and fashion industry today, is based on unrealistic representations of waif-thin models and are completely distorted. Srija Nair

With celebrities and fashion experts glorifying size zero as the only acceptable body size, women have begun to espouse and internalise various myths about being thin. Here are some of the commonly perceived myths regarding 'thinness'
THIN PEOPLE ARE HEALTHY Fitness expert and lifestyle consultant, Mehernaaz Damania says, "So many people have a good looking body but suffer from many internal illnesses like digestive disorders, sinus, etc. One needs to be fit inside out and focus on one's health and wellbeing rather than attaining some magical figure." THIN PEOPLE DO NOT NEED EXERCISE People living in urban areas lead unhealthy and sedentary lifestyles a leading cause of death worldwide. Physical activity and exercise become very essential not only for overweight but thin people as well. Mehernaaz Damania says, "One needs to move the body despite one's age, or being fat or thin. A sedentary lifestyle can lead to many diseases like diabetes and heart disease, irrespective of one's weight. If you are physically active, you will have strong muscles, bones and joints." THIN PEOPLE ARE NOT PRONE TO HEART DISEASES This is a common perception that heart disease is the result of being overweight. Although obesity is a cause of heart disease, nutritionist Naini Setalvad says that thin people are equally prone to it as heart disease depends on one's high cholesterol and stress level that can affect thin or fat people.
