SIP (Structural Insulated Panels)
LOCAL

1. ECOWALL Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)

Developer: Builders.ph
ECOWALL Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) is a structural
ready-to-install composite panel with an insulating EPS foam
core and calcium silicate boards. ECOWALL is roughly 1/3
lighter than walls made of hollow blocks, and faster to install,
thereby relieving the building load and reducing construction
time and cost.

2. Isolation Facilities
Location: Mapanas, Northern Samar
INTERNATIONAL
1. Shotgun House
Location: SANTO DOMINGO, CHILE
Architects: Gabriel Rudolphy + Alejandro Soffia

In the case of the Shotgun House—designed by Alejandro Soffia

in Cachagua, Chile—the SIPs embody the architect's intention to
adopt a replicable construction system that delivers the benefits
of high-quality architecture at a massive level. According to the
architect, "to take advantage of the prefabricated systems, in this
case, the bays strictly respond to the multiplication of the module
as it comes from the factory. In this way, materials and processes
are reduced, resulting in cost and time savings." In its width, the
house is made up of 33 panels of 4.88 meters, adding up to 40
meters in length and a total area of 426 m2.

2. La Dacha Mountain Hut

Location: LAS TRANCAS, CHILE
Architects: DRAA

Also in Chile, La Dacha Mountain Hut builds its entire perimeter with
SIPs 21 centimeters thick, providing a lightweight solution for remote
construction, but ensuring optimal thermal insulation. The panels form
continuous walls around much of the volume and are clad with burnt
pine boards (shou sugi ban) on the outside
ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms)
LOCAL

1. SM Super Center, Muntinlupa

Location: Muntinlupa City
SM Prime Holdings, Inc. was a major commercial
developer in the Philippines that had plans to develop and
build various properties in the Philippines. Many buildings in
the Philippines are of the traditional column/beam frame
building system. The SM developments such as the Super
Center Muntinlupa had such a configuration. As an attempt to
build more energy-efficient buildings than the traditional ones
in the country, SM Prime Holdings, in conjunction with Mage
Packaging Corp of Philippines, was interested in introducing
the Insulating Concrete Forms (ICF) Wall System technology
from the United States to the Philippines.

2. Houses and Commercial Buildings

Location: Manila
INTERNATIONAL
1. Pelican Grand Beach Resort
Location: Fort Lauderdale Fla.
Developer: Parlin Properties

The structural frame of the building was cast-in-place using removable forms. ICFs were used for the in-fill walls. With an underground
parking garage, 11 stories of resort suites, and a central tower made of ICFs rising to 148 feet, it is the tallest known ICF structure in
North America.
