Task 1: “Mystery Words”
Mechanics: To play this game, have the students hear the clues until they narrowed it
down. The first student to guess the mystery word wins.
Example: Expected responses:
1st clue: It’s a three-letter word 1. DICTIONARY
2nd clue: It’s an animal 2. BLUE WHALE/WHALE
3rd clue: It barks 3. TREE

Task 2: “Act it Out”
The class will be divided into 2 groups, Ask also 4 volunteers from the class. They
will act out definitions written in a piece of paper. His/her classmates will guess the
word. The group to have more correct guesses wins.

Task 3: “Define Me”
 The class will be divided into 3 groups
 Random photos will be shown on the presentation
 Let the students compose 2-3 sentences to define each item. (Collaborative
Learning Approach)

The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group has differentiated tasks to do.
Group 2: Read the text given. Take note of the thought of the short paragraph. Then
using dictionary, extend the meaning of the words that are underlined.
“ One effect of the Covid 19 pandemic is the concern on the delivery of quality of
education. The Department of Education provides different modalities as to the
delivery of teaching the students. Among others, one given modality is the blended
learning.
Group 2: Search for the origin or history of the common term “barangay” which is
used and identified here in the Philippines as the English term barrio or village.
Group 3: Identify what tip in making definition should be applied to the following
statements.
1. Blended learning is when you use a combination of different modalities in
teaching or learning. ________________
