Morphology is the study of word structure and its link to sentence structure and meaning, and it
refers to the mental processes involved in word production. -The study of sound patterns and
their meanings, both within and between languages, is referred to as phonology. During the
communication process, morphology and phonology interact with one another. Morphological
processes must merge the phonological content of separate morphemes during processing to
form a phonological representation suitable for driving phonological processing.
