Survey for Asosa Asphalt Maintenance Work.

Dear sir

Reminding that, No activity taken to be implemented on the maintenance road

section of Asosa, it has come to our attention that the works on this section should
also be presented for implementation. Whereby, your preparation for
comprehensive conditional survey on maintenance road section , specifically
focusing on selection of type of asphalt surface with minor structural aspects and
asphalt maintenance mechanisms is very mandatory to enter into action.

As you are aware, the integrity and safety of our roadways are of utmost
importance. To ensure that we must meet the need to do the maintenance section by
properly selecting the types of the asphalt layer and its related structures with
highest standards and make informed decisions for the project's continuation, we
require a detailed survey that encompasses the following components:

1. Structural Integrity Assessment: Evaluation of current minor structural elements,

including culverts, drainage systems, and retaining walls.

2. Surface Analysis: Examination of existing road surface conditions for any signs
of distress, such as potholes, cracks, and rutting.
3. Asphalt Quality Inspection: Analysis of the asphalt mix, layer thickness, and
compaction for either Double Bituminous Surface Treatment (DBST) or Hot Laid
Asphalt after selecting one ot the two.

4. Equipment Check: Verification of the availability and condition of necessary

equipment for asphalt maintenance.

5. Material Inventory: Review of on-hand materials required for minor repairs and
maintenance procedures.

6. Traffic Management Plan: Assessment of current traffic control measures and

their effectiveness during maintenance operations.

7. Safety Protocol Evaluation: Inspection of the implementation of safety protocols

for both workers and road users during the maintenance phase.

8. Budget Analysis: Review of the financial aspects related to the maintenance

activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and proper allocation of resources.

The findings from this survey will be pivotal in guiding our project decision-making
process and ensuring that we adhere to the contractual obligations and quality
standards expected.

We would appreciate it if your department could provide the survey within 2 days
to facilitate upcoming decisions on the matter. Be also noted that, thorough analysis
are crucial for the successful maintenance and the decision making.
