Time
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of pie graphs and
(Pamantayang Pangnilalaman) experimental probability.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to create and interpret representations of data (tables and
(Pamantayan sa Pagganap) pie graphs) and apply experimental probability in mathematical problems
and real-life situations.

presenting the new lesson
Drill: Identifying different kinds of graphs.
( Balik-aral sa nakaraang aralin at/o
pagsisimula ng bagong aralin ) Using power point presentations, show the different kinds of graphs and let pupils
identify if what kind it is.
Review:

What we have discussed yesterday?

How do we construct or make a pie graph?

What are the steps in making or constructing a pie graph?

I will show on the projector the steps on constructing or making pie graph, let us
identify if these are correct steps or not.

(Clap your hands thrice, stamp your feet thrice, then say yes if the given step in
making pie graph is correct, and no if wrong.)

1. Collects data, tally and get the frequency.

2. Multiply the given percentage to 360 degrees to get the measurement of the
angles.

3. Draw a circle using compass or protractor.

4. Plot the computed angle in the circle using protractor.

5. Write the label each part of the pie graph.

B. Establishing a purpose for the (ENGAGEMENT) – 5 minutes

lesson/Motivation/Motive
ICT Integration - Powerpoint Presentation
Questions
( Paghahabi sa layunin ng aralin Integration in Araling Panlipunan- showing the relationships of kind of
) job/work to the type of community resources.

Integration in EsP – loving our parents for their sacrifices to give us better living.

What job, work or occupation do you want to become someday? Why?

(Accept pupils’ various answers.)

In our barangay, what are the common occupations of our parents?

Whose parents are farmer? Carpenter/ Construction Worker? Professionals?

Businessman? OFW?.......

(Show on the projector the pictures of the common parents’ occupation of Brgy.
Dikildit. Let them identify it. )

Why these are the common job in our community?

Why farmers are one of the most important job in our community and the entire
country? (HOTS questions)

If you were given a chance to say something to your parents sacrifices to you, what
are you going to tell them? Why? (HOTS questions)

C. Presenting examples/instances of
the new lesson
(EXPLORATION) – 15 minutes
( Pag-uugnay ng mga halimbawa sa
bagong aralin ) Based on the survey of the different parents’ occupation of Brgy. Dikildit among
the 50 parents, this pie graph is constructed or made.

(Show the Pie Graph made out of the given data.)

What is the title of the pie graph?

How many parents served as respondents in the survey that used in this pie graph?

What are the common parents occupations presented in the pie graph?

Based on the percentage shown in the pie graph, what occupation has the most
number of parents?

Based on the percentage shown in the pie graph, what occupation has the least
number of parents?

What are the actual number of parents in each kind of occupation?

How do we multiply percent with whole number?

Call pupil to multiply the given percentage with 50 in each occupation.

How many Farmer parents greater than Professional parents?

How many carpenters and professional parents are lesser than OFW parents?

If we arrange the number of parents from greatest to least, what is the sequence?

D. Discussing new concepts and

practicing new skills #1
(EXPLANATION)- 10 minutes
(Pagtatalakay ng bagong konsepto at
paglalahad ng bagong kasanayan #1) - Using another sample of pie graph about Dikildit ES Pupils Favorite
Subject.

What is the title of the pie graph?

What is the most favorite subject of the pupils? How many?

What is the least favorite subject of the pupils? How many?

What are the subjects that the same in numbers? How many?

The total number of pupils that like MAPEH, Science, English and Filipino is how
much greater than Math?

E. Discussing new concepts and

Continuation of the interpreting the Pie Graph about favorite subjects of the pupils.
practicing new skills #2
( Pagtatalakay ng bagong konsepto What is the exact number of pupils in each subject?
at paglalahad ng bagong kasanayan
