Q1: What are the 5 parts of the cardiovascular system?
Heart
Arteries
Veins
Capillaries
Red Blood Cells

Q2: What are the 4 main functions of the cardiovascular system describe?

Transport:
The cardiovascular system is responsible for the transportation of oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and waste
products to and from the body's tissues. Blood vessels, including arteries, veins, and capillaries, carry
blood to and from the heart, ensuring that every part of the body receives the nutrients and oxygen it needs
to function properly.
Protection:
The cardiovascular system plays an important role in protecting the body against infections and diseases.
White blood cells, which are carried by the blood, fight against foreign invaders such as bacteria and
viruses.

Regulation:
The cardiovascular system helps regulate body temperature and maintain fluid balance. Blood vessels in
the skin dilate or constrict in response to changes in temperature, helping to regulate heat loss from the
body. The kidneys also play a crucial role in regulating fluid balance by filtering waste products from the
blood and producing urine.
Homeostasis:
The cardiovascular system helps maintain the body's overall balance and stability, also known
as homeostasis. By regulating blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels in the blood, the
cardiovascular system ensures that all of the body's organs and tissues receive the nutrients
and oxygen they need to function properly.
