Rule 10 Traffic separation schemes

제 10 조 통항분리방식

(a) This Rule applies to traffic separation schemes adopted by the Organization and does not
relieve any vessel of her obligation under any other rule.

(a) 이 조문은 본 기구가 채택한 통항분리방식에 적용하며 어떤 선박에게도 다른 규정에 의한 의무를

면제하는 것은 아니다.

(b) A vessel using a traffic separation scheme shall:

(b) 통항분리방식을 사용하는 선박은:

(i) proceed in the appropriate traffic lane in the general direction of traffic flow for that lane;

(i) 적합한 통로 내에서 그 통로의 일반적인 교통방향을 따라서 진행하여야 한다;

(ii) so far as practicable keep clear of a traffic separation line or separation zone;

(ii) 가능한 한 통항분리선 또는 분리대에서 멀리 떨어져야 한다;

(iii) normally join or leave a traffic lane at the termination of the lane, but when joining or
leaving from either side shall do so at as small an angle to the general direction of traffic flow
as practicable.

(iii) 통상적으로 지정통로에 합류하거나 이탈할 때에는 통로의 시발점이나 종점에서 그렇게 하여야
한다. 그러나 한 측면에서 합류하거나 이탈할 때는 일반적인 교통방향에 대하여 가능한 한
소각도로 그렇게 하여야 한다.

(c) A vessel shall so far as practicable, avoid crossing traffic lanes but if obliged to do so shall
cross as nearly as practicable at right angles to the general direction of traffic flow.

(c) 선박은 가능한 한 교통로를 횡단하지 않도록 하여야 한다. 그러나 부득이 횡단하여야 할 경우에는
교통류의 일반적인 방향에 대하여 가능한 한 직각으로 횡단하여야 한다.

(d)

(i) A vessel shall not use an inshore traffic zone when she can safely use the appropriate traffic
lane within the adjacent traffic separation scheme. However, vessels of less than 20 metres in
length, sailing vessels and vessels engaged in fishing may use the inshore traffic zone.

(i) 가까이 있는 통항분리방식 내에 있는 적합한 통로를 안전하게 사용할 수 있는 선박은 연안

통항대를 사용하여서는 아니 된다. 그러나 길이 20 미터 미만의 선박, 범선 및 어로에 종사 중인
선박은 연안 통항대를 사용할 수 있다.
 (ii) Notwithstanding subparagraph (d)(i), a vessel may use an inshore traffic zone when en route
to or from a port, offshore installation or structure, pilot station or any other place situated
within the inshore traffic zone, or to avoid immediate danger.

(ii) (d)항 (i)의 규정에도 불구하고 인접한 항구로 출입항 하는 선박, 연안 통항대 내에 위치하여 있는
기지, 구조물 또는 도선사 승하선 장소에 출입하는 선박이나 급박한 위험을 피하기 위한 선박은 연안
통항대를 사용할 수 있다.

(e). A vessel other than a crossing vessel or a vessel joining or leaving a lane shall not normally
enter a separation zone or cross a separation line except:

(e) 통로를 횡단하는 선박 또는 통로에 진입하거나 통로를 떠나는 선박 이외의 선박은 아래의 경우를
제외하고는 통상적으로, 분리대 내에 들어가거나 분리선을 넘어서는 아니 된다.

(i). in cases of emergency to avoid immediate danger;

(i) 절박한 위험을 피하기 위한 긴급한 경우

(ii). to engage in fishing within a separation zone.

(ii) 분리대 내에서 어로에 종사하고자 하는 경우

(f) A vessel navigating in areas near the terminations of traffic separation schemes shall do so
with particular caution.

(f) 통항분리방식의 종점 부근을 항해하는 선박은 특별한 주의를 하며 항행하여야 한다.

(g) A vessel shall so far as practicable avoid anchoring in a traffic separation scheme or in areas
near its terminations.

(g) 선박은 통항분리방식 내 혹은 그 종점 부근의 해역에서 가능한 한 묘박을 피하여야 한다.

(h) A vessel not using a traffic separation scheme shall avoid it by as wide a margin as is
practicable.

(h) 통항분리방식을 이용하지 아니하는 선박은 가능한 한 넓은 여지를 두고 그것을 피하여야한다.

(i) A vessel engaged in fishing shall not impede the passage of any vessel following a traffic lane.

(i) 어로에 종사 중인 선박은 통로를 따라 진행하는 모든 선박의 통행을 방해하여서는 아니 된다.

( j) A vessel of less than 20 metres in length or a sailing vessel shall not impede the safe passage
of a power-driven vessel following a traffic lane.

( j) 길이 20 미터 미만의 선박이나 범선은 통로를 따라 진행하는 동력선의 안전한 통행을

방해하여서는 아니 된다.

(k) A vessel restricted in her ability to manoeuvre when engaged in an operation for the
maintenance of safety of navigation in a traffic separation scheme is exempted from complying
with this Rule to the extent necessary to carry out the operation.

(k) 통항분리대 내에서 항해의 안전을 유지하기 위한 작업에 종사 중이기 때문에 기동성이 제한되어
있는 선박은 그 작업을 수행하는데 필요한 범위 내에서 이 규칙의 준수가 면제된다.

(l) A vessel restricted in her ability to manoeuvre when engaged in an operation for the laying,
servicing or picking up of a submarine cable, within a traffic separation scheme, is exempted from
complying with this Rule to the extent necessary to carry out the operation.

(l) 통항분리대 내에서 해저전선의 부설, 보수 또는 인양작업에 종사 중이기 때문에 기동성이

제한되어 있는 선박은 작업을 수행하는데 필요한 범위 내에서 이 규칙의 준수가 면제된다.
