I was born and raised in Chile, el sur del mundo, surround by Los

Andes and the cold Pacific Ocean (Drone shots of Chile). Growing

up in Chile was peaceful and happy; I remember walking those

dirty roads to the church with my siblings, everything was easy

and the world so small.

My dad is a farmer and as a kid, I used to work with him in the

fields. From a young age I realize that we don’t have nothing

more than our own hands. (The piece of land where I live)

My name is Alvaro Valenzuela, and this is Who Am I.

My life started in the gate of my house waiting for my brother

and sister walking back from school. I just wanted to grow up and

do things as my siblings. That’s why I started working when I was

13, I did all sort of things to get some money; Most of my

summers were fun and full of experiences working on

telecommunications (Photos of me working). However, I wasn’t

happy doing that, it wasn’t meant for me. Discovering your

talent is not an easy task, but sometimes are those like things

that you are not aware of, that can contribute to your discovery.

I don’t have a lot of photos of me when I was a kid because

usually, I was the one taking the picture. (Some photos of me as

a kid)
At the beginning I was bad taking pictures, really bad. However,

I started learning and practicing with my friends (Photoshoots

that I did), and I think that experimenting is the key to find

your way. As a result, I did weddings, corporate, product, food

and portrait photography.

But one day when I was in school, I just found something,

something that maybe all of us can feel in some point on our

lives; I fell in love. I don't know why but she was different,

she showed me that love can be hard, cruel, and sometimes

disappointing.

That shaped me as a creative. Everything has a cost, a cost of

money, or a cost of time. Loving what you do does not mean that

you will always be happy, on the contrary, most of the time you

are going to be disappointing. But it is that spark full of

happiness that made me take the step forward to be a

photographer.

Doing photography gave me happiness and excitement for things

that are common. Even though I’ve lived non common things; An

earthquake, a revolution and a pandemic. That last one made me

realize of something beautiful, my surroundings, the nature that

is on front of my eyes, the mountains, the snow, the sky,

everything that I was not paying attention (Photos and footage of

my landscape photography).

For the first time in my life, I was impress and inspire to

dedicated all my strength in something. And I think that I am in

my way of life.

I am Alvaro Valenzuela, and I am a landscape photographer.
