The Influence of Discipline, Leadership and

Performance at BPJSTK in DKI Jakarta Branch

Abstract:

Employee performance is the result of work that strongly relates to the company’s strategic
goals. The company’s performance is largely determined by its human resources. Supposing that
the employees have good discipline and a sense of security and convenience in the work
environment; consequently improve employee performance. The results obtained from the
observation of questionnaire distribution data of 25 respondents showed that there were problems
faced by employees at BPJSTK (National Social Security Agency for Employment) DKI Jakarta
Branch, for 36% did not agree in working together or in other words they preferred to work
independently, 40% stated that there was no motivational encouragement from the leaders and
other employees, 40% of unclear task instructions from the leaders, 36% of the leaders have not
been able to create conducive relationships and atmosphere, 36% of the leaders are not tech-
savvy (technology illiterate), 44% of the leaders are subjective to employees, 80% of the leaders
and policies frequently tend to substitute, 44% lack bonding, 40% lack support from colleagues,
and 44% physical environment factors

Purpose:

The purpose of this article is to determine the influence of discipline on employee performance,
the influence of the work environment on employee performance, and the influence of discipline
and the work environment on employee performance at BPJSTK DKI Jakarta Branch.

Theory:
The theory underlying this article is that discipline, leadership, and work environment have a
significant influence on employee performance. In other words, good discipline, effective
leadership, and a conducive work environment can improve employee performance in achieving
company goals.

Method:

The research method used in this article involves observation and distribution of questionnaires
to 25 respondents at BPJSTK DKI Jakarta Branch. Data is analyzed to identify problems faced
by employees related to discipline, leadership and work environment, as well as their impact on
employee performance.

Result:

The research results showed that the majority of respondents faced several problems related to
discipline, leadership and work environment at BPJSTK DKI Jakarta Branch. Some of the
problems identified include lack of cooperation between employees, lack of motivation from
leaders and co-workers, unclear task instructions, unconducive relationships and atmosphere,
lack of understanding of technology by leaders, subjectivity of leaders towards employees,
policies that often change, lack of support and bonds between employees, as well as physical
environmental factors that are less supportive.

Recommendation:

Based on the findings identified in the research, several recommendations that can be given to
improve employee performance at BPJSTK DKI Jakarta Branch include:

1. Increase cooperation between employees and strengthen the sense of team at work.

2. Provide better motivation from leaders and co-workers.

3. Provide clearer and more supportive task instructions.

4. Creating conducive relationships and atmosphere in the work environment.

5. Provide technology training to leaders to increase their understanding.


6. Reduce the subjectivity of leadership towards employees.

7. Establish policies that are consistent and do not change frequently.

8. Encourage support and cooperation between employees.

9. Improve physical environmental factors that can influence employee performance.

Conclusion:

Based on the findings and recommendations presented in the research, it can be concluded that
factors such as discipline, leadership and work environment play an important role in influencing
employee performance at BPJSTK DKI Jakarta Branch. By increasing work discipline,
improving leadership, and creating a conducive work environment, it is hoped that employee
performance can be improved significantly. Therefore, companies need to pay attention to these
aspects to achieve organizational goals more effectively.
