1 Introduction
This application note is aimed at system integrators who want to upgrade their homeLYnk from V1.0 or V1.1 to

a higher firmware version.

Once projects were created in homeLYnk firmware version 1.0 and 1.1, it needs to be considered that an
upgrade of the firmware of homeLYnk to version 1.2 or higher will be needed. Icons related to camera and to
graph will be incorrectly displayed. This backward compatibility firmware package will correct both types of

icons.

This application note describes how to install backward compatibility package for homeLYnk and under which
conditions it has to be used.

There is only one necessary competency to follow the procedures mentioned in this application note. All what
is needed to know are basic homeLYnk configuration skills described in the product manual.

Procedures contained in this application note were tested on the homeLYnk specified in Table 1.

2 When package should be used?
 This package fixes incorrectly displayed graph and camera icons in the visualization. This is caused by
a restoring project, which was made in FW V1.0, V1.1 to a firmware with higher version
 This package is helpful only for project using camera or graph icons
 Running the same patch twice or running the patch on newer firmware will do no harm to homeLYnk

2.1 After upgrade your homeLYnk from FW V1.0, V1.1 to higher

If an upgrade to homeLYnk from FW V1.0, V1.1 ( ) is required, the procedure from chapter 5.1.1

has to be followed.

2.2 For successful import of project created in FW V1.0, V1.1 to

homeLYnk with higher FW version
When a project was created in homeLYnk with firmware version V1.0, V1.1 ( ) and has to be

restored in the homeLYnk with higher version.

4 Upgrade firmware
This chapter is not necessary to perform. Once projects were created in homeLYnk firmware version 1.0 and

1.1, it needs to be considered that upgrade of the firmware of homeLYnk to version 1.2 or higher will be
required.

4.1 Properties of versions

4.1.1 Firmware version V1.0 and V1.1

 After each firmware upgrade homeLYnk will be completely erased, except the IP address, which will be
preserved
 To secure the project it is necessary to use backup in configurator (More in chapter 3)
 Default IP address (after HW factory reset) is unchanged – 192.168.0.10

4.1.2 Firmware upgrade V1.2.0 and higher

 From firmware version 1.2.0 and higher homeLYnk do not delete project during firmware upgrade. (we
strongly recommend backup homeLYnk every time for cases of failure power supply or other accidents)
 This rule applies to initial firmware (firmware which you want to upgrade to a higher version) which is at
least V1.2.0 or higher
 Default IP address (after HW factory reset) is unchanged – 192.168.0.10. There is one exception, if
homeLYnk will be upgraded from V1.0 or V1.1 to V1.2.0, your default IP address will be changed to the
IP address which your device had during upgrade.

4.2 Step by step description

1) Go to homeLYnk

Firefox or chrome can be used. Enter the IP address of homeLYnk, which you want to upgrade firmware
