do not work alone in the laboratory. Being alone in a situation
in which accidents can occur can be life-threatening Always perform an experiment as specified. Wear clothing that covers and protects your body. Be aware of others working near you and the hazard associated with their experiments. Never eat, drink, or chew gum in the laboratory. Also never directly inhale or taste any substance. Read and understand the hazard documentation regarding any chemicals you plan to you in an experiment. Know where to find and how to use safety equipment, such as eye wash station, fire extinguisher, first aid kit and fire alarm pulls. Report injuries, accidents and other incidents to instructor. Properly dispose of chemical waste, Do not dispose of any chemicals by pouring them down the drain or putting them in the trash can without approval from your instructor.
Important guidelines:
1. All glassware should be cleaned and dried before use
2. The glassware should be handled with a lot of care 3. Each apparatus should be used as per standard procedure 4. The sensitivity of graduated pipette and burette is 0.1ml 5. In liquid measurement, the lower meniscus should be considered while measuring the colorless liquids 6. While transferring the liquid by pipette allow the liquid to flow by gravity . do not below with mouth.
