2021 Biography of a famous character
Was born in Huarochiri, Lima on April 11, 1880. His
parents were Mr. Julián Tello and Mrs. Maria Asunción Rojas. When he was a child, he stood out for his intelligence and was nicknamed the Sharuko.
He studied medicine and anthropological sciences at the
National University Mayor San Marcos. He won a scholarship. He traveled to the United States and studied at Harvard. He was a Peruvian archaeologist and physician.
Mr. Tello, was a talented discoverer, He was called "The
father of Peruvian Archeology". He was the first indigenous archaeologist in Latin America. He discovered the Chavín and Paracas culture. He made the first scientific expedition to Chavín de Huantar in Huari, Anchash in 1919.
Mr. Tello founded the Museum of Peruvian Archeology in
1924. He donated his research before he died to the University where he studied.
