1. The gamar and vocabulary integrate the writer's understanding of the commands,
correct use of grammar, and having a diverse vocabulary. Students start by
understanding the command and begin to construct grammatically correct
sentences. In addition, choosing the right vocabulary to convey meaning that fits
the context of the command and increases the depth of their writing, encourages
clear communication and conveys interesting ideas. (Lilik yuliawati, 2021)
2. In the revision and reflection stages, writers engage in critically assessing and
refining their writing. The first thing they do is estimate what they are going to
write, identify the strengths of their writing and improve the writing that needs to
be replaced. Writers make sure their ideas are clearly conveyed and well-
structured. After that, they check for grammar, punctuation, and spelling
mistakes. In addition, writers consider feedback from peers or tutors and use
constructive criticism to improve their writing. (Smith & Johnson, 2022).
The table presents responses from individuals categorized into language proficiency
levels (A2, B1, B2) regarding their experiences with a writing strategy. Participants at the
B2 level reported finding the strategy beneficial, particularly appreciating the clarity
provided by having a theme or idea to write about. They also highlighted the
effectiveness of a final revision stage in identifying and addressing inconsistencies in
their writing. However, they noted ongoing challenges with memorizing vocabulary,
especially considering their status as English learners. Despite struggles with longer texts
and meeting writing targets, participants found the revision stage instrumental in
enhancing the quality and appeal of their writing. Overall, the strategy appears to offer
valuable benefits, particularly in improving writing proficiency and structure, while also
presenting ongoing challenges related to vocabulary acquisition and longer text
composition.
The analysis of student responses reveals significant differences between the original
strategy and the new stages. The new stages demonstrates notable advantages, including
enhanced writing proficiency, improved text organization, and effective editing through
the incorporation of themed writing tasks and a revision stage. These aspects contribute to
clearer communication and better overall writing quality. However, challenges such as the
time-consuming process of memorizing vocabulary and struggles with longer texts
remain evident. These findings underscore the positive impact of the new/addition
strategy in elevating writing proficiency and organization, despite presenting challenges
related to vocabulary acquisition and text length.
The table above presents the responses of some individuals who have been categorized
into English proficiency levels (A1, B1, B2), regarding their experiences after using the
developed strategy. Participants at the B2 level stated that the strategy was useful,
especially because they understood every explanation given. It made it easier for them to
decide on themes and ideas to write about. They also highlighted the effectiveness of the
final revision stage in identifying and addressing inconsistencies in their writing.
However, given their status as English language learners it was difficult to avoid
challenges in vocabulary selection. Despite the difficulties in writing long texts and
meeting writing targets, the participants felt that the revision stage was very important in
improving the quality and appeal of their writing. So overall, the strategy clearly offered
valuable benefits in the writing process, especially in terms of improving writing skills
and more structured writing, while also presenting ongoing challenges related to
appropriate vocabulary selection and longer text sequences.
The analysis of students' responses to the original strategy and the developed strategy
showed significant differences. The new stages showed important results, including
improved writing skills, better text organization, and refinement of writing through
writing according to the prompt theme and adding interesting ideas and then revising.
These aspects help make the connection between writer and reader clear and improve the
overall quality of the writing. However, there are some challenges that are difficult to
avoid, such as the process of memorizing vocabulary because it is quite time-consuming
and the difficulty in writing long texts. In conclusion, the findings highlight the positives
of the new/additional strategies in improving writing and organization skills, despite the
challenges that are difficult to avoid.
