Refit the radiator drain plug

Refit the radiator splash guard

Remove the drive belt cover

Remove the lower splash guard

Disconnect the coolant hose

Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts

Turn the tensioner clockwise to release the belt tension

Remove the radiator splash guard

Remove the ring
Remove the chain tensioner
Remove the camshaft position sensor(s)

Remove the camshaft gearwheel and chain

Before disconnecting the battery cable, check the audio system security code
(1.00)

Installation
Fit the chain tensioner (8 Nm)
Measure the alignment:
At the points shown (A = 20 mm)
Read the dial gauge value (X < 0.16 mm)

Removal
Disconnect the battery earth cable
Remove the expansion tank pressure cap
(2.00)

Align the timing marks

Fit the camshaft gearwheel and chain
Refit the camshaft position sensor (28 Nm)

Turn the crankshaft clockwise

Check the timing marks

Refit the timing chain cover (9 Nm)

Fit the coolant pump (10 Nm)
Renew the gasket
