OTHER VERBS
INTRODUÇÃO
O tempo verbal do Simple Present, ao contrário do que se pensa e ao contrário do que possa
parecer, não indica aquilo que está acontecendo agora. É normal que as pessoas pensem assim: “O
presente é o agora. E o agora é aquilo que está acontecendo. Entretando, isso não é verdade. Veja
abaixo o conceito correto e como utilizar de maneira correta o Simple Present Tense.
CONCEITO
O Simple Present é mais usado para falar de coisas que acontecem habitualmente mas pode
indicar outras situações.
OTHER VERBS

Ex.: I like to read.
Negative
Ex.: I don’t like to read.
Interrogative
Ex.: Do you like to read? > Why do you like to read?
Note que as chamadas Wh-questions nascem de Yes/No questions, bastando acrescentar um pronome
interrogativo à frente dessas.

Affirmative
Ex.: She likes to read.
Negative
Ex.: She doesn’t like to read.
Interrogative
Ex.: Does she like to read?
