Listado de Problemas Ambientales

I. Read each definition and match them with its appropriate category.

A. Air pollution ( E ) The decline in the variety and abundance

of plant and animal species within a particular
habitat or ecosystem, often caused by habitat
destruction, pollution, overexploitation, and
invasive species, posing threats to ecosystem
stability and human well-being.

B. Water pollution ( C ) The deterioration of soil quality due to factors

such as deforestation, urbanization, intensive
agricultural practices, and erosion, resulting in
reduced fertility, loss of arable land, and
diminished ecosystem functions.

C. Soil degradation ( G ) Health problems affecting a community or

population, often associated with environmental
factors such as pollution, inadequate sanitation,
and exposure to hazardous substances, leading
to increased risks of diseases and negative
impacts on well-being.

D. Climate change ( A ) The production of solid, liquid, or gaseous

waste materials as a result of human activities,
including industrial processes, agriculture, and
household consumption, contributing to
environmental pollution, resource depletion, and
health hazards if not managed properly.

E. Loss of biodiversity ( D ) The long-term alteration of global or

regional climate patterns, primarily attributed to
human activities such as the burning of fossil
fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes,
leading to phenomena such as rising
temperatures, extreme weather events, and sea
level rise.

F. Waste generation ( F ) The presence of harmful or excessive

quantities of substances in the air, such as
pollutants from industrial emissions, vehicle
exhaust, or burning of waste, which can
adversely affect human health and the
environment.

G. Public Health Issues ( B ) The contamination of water bodies, such as

rivers, lakes, and oceans, by pollutants including
chemicals, sewage, and waste materials,
leading to harm to aquatic ecosystems and risks
to public health.
II. Choose one of the topics and go a bit further by writing down:

1. Statistics
2. Data
3. Dates
4. A brief description of the problem in the area you live.

Water is an essential resource in daily life, there are places where this resource is wasted
and undervalued. In my municipality there are usually neighborhoods where this resource is
scarce because the pipes are very old and in poor condition. and they are rarely maintained,
which causes the water to become contaminated and have a bad smell, a cloudy color,
which is why my neighbors find themselves in the need to request pipes from the
municipality and the water does not come in optimal conditions when they charge you. for a
service and it is not fair that you receive a resource with poor quality
