NAME: DANIEL HEATHER

SUBJECT: BIOLOGY

TOPIC: OSMOSIS

DUE/DATE: 25/05/24

CLASS: 13.1

TEACHER: MS. MALETINO

Aim:
To observe where the water moves thought the beaker to the dialysis tubing

Hypothesis:
I predict that the water will go through the dialysis paper during the observation

Materials:
 2 Medium beaker
 2 Dialysis tubing
 4 Plastic paper
 2 Rubber bands
 Sugar
 Water

Procedure:
1. Prepare the sugar solution
2. Prepare a dialysis tubing paper
3. Use the rubber band to tie the bottom side of the dialysis paper tightly
4. Pour the solution of sugar into the dialysis paper
5. Use the second rubber band to tie the top of the dialysis paper tightly
6. Then pour water halfway into the medium beaker
7. Place the prepared solution into the beaker of water
8. Then repeat procedure 2 to 5 but using water in the dialysis paper
9. Then prepare another sugar solution into the other medium beaker make it halfway
10. Place the water dialysis paper into the sugar solution in the medium beaker.
11. Observe what happen to the water and the sugar solution
Results:
Two medium beakers
Beaker #1 (Sugar Solution)
The water molecules are moving to an area of low concentration of water to a high
concentration water.
= sugar solution in the tubing paper and water inside the beaker.

Beaker #2 (Water)
The water molecules are moving from an area of high concentration to an area of low
concentration in a permeable membrane
= water inside the tubing paper and sugar solution inside the beaker

Discussion:
To discuss my results is that beaker 1 and beaker 2 have different substance in them beaker 1
has sugar solution in it but for the dialysis paper has water so the water is go out of the
dialysis paper or permeable membrane but for beaker 2 has water in it and for the dialysis
paper the it has the sugar solution so the water moves into the dialysis paper and the sugar
comes out of the sugar solution.

Conclusion:
To conclude my lap report is that water will move to an area of low concentration trough the
dialysis paper for my prediction was right that the water will go through the dialysis paper
during the observation.
