1. What are the differences between biomaterials and dental


materials?

 Biomaterials are materials used in dentistry with an aim to control caries and disease
that could total damage of the tooth-Material such as polymer, ceramic, and composite.
Biomaterial’s substance has a natural origin which can improve, treat, heal, and even
use as a tissue replacement in live organism. On the other hand, Dental material are
dental material that are characterize according to their form, some of them were on
powder form which indeed be mix in liquid for it to set. Some of it is in gel like form which
sometimes used a light cure for it to se. dental material are widely used to improve the
esthetics ot the tooth or to aim the missing tooth. Dental materials are Gypsum material,
denture base resins, impression material.

2. What is the primary purpose of specifications and international


standards for dental materials?
 The primary purpose of specification and international standards for dental material is for
the material itself has a uniform requirement to its content for it to assure that the certain
material content is safe to use, if there is no toxin mixed in the content and for the dental
personnel to assure the durability of the materials they are using. Because it is believe
that materials used are the primary factor for successful dental operation, so this
standard will guild the dentist upon knowing the products and materials they are using
and it also serves as assure for the patient that they are using safety material.

 TC 106/SC 1/WG 9 - Resin-based filling materials

drinks.

5. Which factors determine when dental material products


become obsolete?
 Factors will determine the dental material products become obsolete when is
product is not durable wise, if this product has a toxin discovered on it such the
amalgam which gas a mercury content than is not good in human consumption
and if the product is not suitable in the consumer or patients taste.
