ENG11003 Sprint 3 – Community Project (Living Lab for Sustainability) 2019

Task overview
Sprint 3 (Phase 1) will focus on data collection and estimations for a streamlined
sustainability assessment. At the conclusion of sprint 3 associates will produce a
Streamlined Assessment Report documenting their findings. The streamlined assessment
will involve interviews with Academy staff and students regarding sustainability behaviours
in addition to using fermi calculation and benchmarking techniques to describe the
Academy’s current practices in various prescribed topics.

Sprint 3 Milestone 1 involves the development of the final Streamlined Assessment Report.

Structure of submission
The Streamlined Assessment Report needs to contain:
• Executive Summary (max 2 pages)
• Introduction (including context)
• Objectives
• Scope (including audience, geographic scope, temporal scope and system
boundary)
• Methodology (outlining your process for planning, gathering data, analysing the
results, benchmarking the results, and drawing conclusions, as well as your reasons
for using that methodology over other options)
• Summary of Results (including summary of data represented in tables and/or
graphs)
• Baseline
• Benchmarking
• Analysis and Discussion (including limitations (e.g. data quality) and opportunities
(e.g. areas of highest improvement potential))
• Conclusion (including Next Steps for Phase 2)
• References (using APA referencing style)
• Appendices (including detailed research data)

Submission requirements:
• Save the submissions as a pdf, doc or docx with the following filenames:
Year 1 Associates: ENG11003 2019HT2 M1 Report GroupName (substitute
GroupName with your group’s name).
Year 2 Associates: ENG21003 2019HT2 M1 Report GroupName (substitute
GroupName with your group’s name).

• Submit through Canvas. One person from each year level in the group should submit
the report (ie. one first-year Associate AND one second-year Associate)
• The word limit for each document is:
o Streamlined Assessment Report – 2,000-3,000 words including appendices
(excluding bibliography)
• The final Streamlined Assessment Report is due at 23:59 on Sunday 15 September
2019.
