Dear Sir,
SUB: DEMAND FOR COMPENSATORY PAYMENT IN THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND KWACHA
(ZMW 150,000) ON BEHALF OF LAWRENCE CHIKAFWA.
We act on behalf of Mr. Lawrence Chikafwa and kindly take note of our interest.
Our client has informed us that you Mr. Emmanuel Kadochi happened to be his Tenant in his residential house which
was just adjacent to the other house where he was dwelling.
Information brought to our attention was the fact that, fire gutted onto the house which you were occupying and
negligently, it also burnt the house where our Client was living with his family. Further evidence is that most of the goods,
articles and parcels got burnt to an extent that there was no recovery of any goods.
We are also informed that in an attempt to resolve this predicament, you mutually agreed that you would take personal
responsibility by compensating our client in utmost good faith.
However, in utmost bad faith, you have failed, neglected and refused to compensate our client as agreed earlier on ,
thereby leaving our client in total shock, anguish, restlessness and loss of accommodation for his family.
Kindly note that our client was a landlord before all this but due to your negligence, he has been reduced to a tenant.
It is from this background that he has requested us to purse this matter to the end, and please be advised that you are
required to honor our client by payment of One Hundred Thousand Kwacha (ZMW 100,000.00) as compensation for
damages within five (5) working days failure to which we shall have an option to advise our client to proceed with the
Court.
Note also that you are required to remit to us a collection fee pegged at 10% of the total amount claimed.
Be that as it may, you are advised accordingly.
