Department of Chemistry

Department of Chemistry Poona College organized an Inter Departmental M.Sc. Seminar

Competition was held on Monday 14th March 2016. The whole Program was organized in
Conference hall Poona College. 11 Students from different departments were
enthusiastically participated. The winners were provided with exciting prizes.The judges
for the event were Prof. M.B. Pathan, Department of Statistics, Poona College and Dr.
M.R.G. Sayyed, Department of Geology, Poona College.

Department of Computer Science

Department has organised seminars of students. The participants were given various
categories from which they could select their topic of interest viz: E-learning, Robotic,
Big-data, Hadoop, Cloud Computing etc.The coordinators for this competitions were Mr.
Umer Hasan (Incharge) and Ms. Khushboo Azmi

Department of Mathematics

Intercollegiate seminar competition was organized by department of Mathematics on

23rd January 2019. 10 students from various colleges participated. Dr. AmajdShaikh and
Mrs. Shaheen Khan were coordinators. Dr. NileshMundlik of NowrosjeeWadia College
was the chief guest.All participants given participationcertificates. With the active
support and cooperation of all staff membersof the department the event was a grand
success.

Department of Mathematicsorganized a Seminar competition on 29th Dec. 2016 for F.Y /

S.Y / T.Y. B.Sc students in conference hall. Around 10 students participated in the
competition. Coordinator was Mr. Amjad Shaikh and judges were Mr. Akhlaque Ahmed
(Internal Judge) and Mr. Ganesh Kadu, Dept. of Mathematics SPPU, (External judge).

Department of BBA-CA

Discussion on 'Union Financial Budget' was organised for FYBBA Class on 8th and 9th July
2019, by Prof.DeepikaKininge. Positive and Negative impacts of Budget on Indian
economy were discussed. FY BBA students presented and explained budget 2019
beautifully with charts. All students who presented budget with charts were appreciated
by HOD. Prof.DeepikaKininge and FY BBA Students to participate in discussion also
helped them to write and present article before class.

Department of BBA

Under the subject Business Organization and system of FYBBA Prof. Deepika Kininge organized
PPT presentation activity was organized on the topic 'MNC's of India' on Saturday, 23rd
Sept.2017 for FYBBA students. Students presented PPT's on different Indian Companies like
Infosys, Wipro, Amul,Flipkart, Bajaj, Tata, Patanjali etc. 40 students attended and presented their
presentation through PowerPoint.

Under the subject Research Methodology of BBA Prof. Deepika Kininge organized Research
Paper Presentation activity for TY BBA students on 29th September. Students presented
research paper on different topics of Business Trends according to their Specialization like
Finance, Marketing and HRM. 36 students submitted and presented their research paper through
PowerPoint PPT.

Department of Botany

Department of Botany organised a student seminar of T.Y.B.SC. on 11/10/2017. The

activity planned to provide a platform to student, by which they can express their views
and share knowledge about the botany. A different topic has been selected by the students
which are related with Plant Physiology. The students participated enthusiastically and
presented well. All the staff members and students of botany were present for seminar.
The activity was coordinated by Dr. Rafik Shaikh.

Department of Economics

A PowerPoint Presentation was organised by the Department of Economics for students

of M.A. Part I & II on 9th October, 2018. The students benefited from the programme in
terms of ideas and knowledge about managing waste and employing methods to reuse it
economically. It enhanced their presentation skills and developed confidence in them.
Over all 28 students and 6 teachers attended the event. The programme was coordinated
by Mrs. Ana Mateen.

Department of Hindi

The National Hindi Literature Student Seminar was organised on 19/09/2017 by

Department of Hindi. 28 students presented their research articles in this seminar. The
purpose of organizing this student seminar was that, students became aware of the art of
courage, oratory, communication skills, and the art of presenting research articles. Dr.
Shakir Shaikh and Dr. Baba Shaikh was the convener of this National Hindi Literature
Student Seminar.

Department of Political Science

The Department of Political Science organized students' seminar on “Political Sociology”

on 9th September 2019. The objectives of organizing such students' seminar are to
enhance, group and integrative discussion skills, skills of critical evaluation and exploring
and mining a text related to the topic. Mr. Mukhtar Shaikh, Assistant Professor
coordinated this entire activity.

Department of Zoology organized seminar competition For F.Y. B. Sc Zoology students on

World of Zoology on 20th December, 2018. It was coordinated by Dr. Kalim Shaikh. Ten
students enrolled for the competition. Dr. Shoeb Ahmad and Mrs. Anjum Pathan were the
judges for the said competition.
