INTERNAL REGULATIONS OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

AND SAFETY
1. INTRODUCTION

STRACON is a company that provides comprehensive services of mine planning,


development, construction, operation and closure.

Our company considers its employees as the most important aspect in the
development of its activities. For this reason, our occupational health and safety
management is focused on safeguarding the life, health and wellbeing of our
employees, as well as preventing material damages.

STRACON has a Safety, Occupational Health and Environment Policy, which is


reviewed frequently and it is available for its stakeholders.

2. OBJECTIVIES AND SCOPE

2.1. Main Objetive

Article 1. - To prevent the occurrence of incidents and occupational disease, ensuring


a culture of occupational health and safety.

2.2. Specific Objectives

Article 2. - To preserve the physical integrity and health of our employees, and to
prevent material damage while conducting our activities.

Article 3. - To promote a culture of occupational health and safety for our employees,
contractor companies and third parties associated with STRACON for the
development of our activities, ensuring proper health and safety conditions in the work
fronts.

Article 4. - To maintain leadership in occupational health and safety where we conduct


our activities, in a way that promotes the implementation of the highest and most
demanding occupational health and safety standards for our employees. To guarantee
proper occupational health and safety conditions on the areas where our employees
conduct their activities.

Article 5. - To maintain STRACON facilities and goods in good conditions, in order to


ensure their efficient contribution in the processes being developed.

Article 6. - To ensure our employees develop competencies in order to contribute


significantly with their work, without risking their health.

2.3. Scope

Article 7. - This document establishes the occupational health and safety roles and
responsibilities which all employees, subcontractors, providers, visitors and others
associated with STRACON must comply with when within our facilities.

This Regulation is applicable to all of the activities and services developed by


STRACON.

3. MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Article 8. - The STRACON Management System is based on the concepts of business


improvement, strategy planning, and the implementation of management tools and
specific actions, with a systematic risk management approach with the objective to
control and reduce risks, and meeting the organisational occupational health and
safety objectives.

3.1. Scope

Article 9. - The scope of our Management System includes all processes and activities
executed by STRACON, its contractors, providers and visitors, both domestically and
internationally.

3.2. IMS Document Framework

Article 10. - The document framework defines the different types and levels of
documents within the document hierarchy and provides definitions of the various
document types.
3.3. Management System Tools

3.3.1. Audits

Article 11. - Systematic, independent and documented process of obtaining evidence


and objectively assessing them, in order to verify if the results and related activities
comply with the plan, if they are effectively implemented and if they are suitable for
complying with the STRACON policies and objectives.

3.3.2. Inspections

Article 12. - Methodical observation process, used by STRACON, to identify hazards


or unsafe practices (related to facilities, equipment, tools, materials, structures, etc.).
There are three (3) types of inspections:

3.3.2.1. Workplace Inspections

• Random Inspections
• Planned Inspections

3.3.2.2. Equipment Pre-Start Inspection

Process of examination of equipment and machinery at the start of each shift or before
operation, in order to verify the safety conditions for operation, that there is no damage,
or that if there are damages, that they have been reported and maintenance has been
conducted on the equipment.

3.3.2.3. Occupational Health and Safety Committee and Subcommittee Inspections

Process of examination conducted by the occupational health and safety committee


on the STRACON work areas.

3.3.3. Planned Task Observation (PTO)

Article 13. - Methodical process used by STRACON to determine the level of safe
behaviour of employees while performing their activities, in order to verify that the work
is being safely executed and in accordance with the safe work instructions and
standards.
3.3.4. Risk Management

Article 14. - Systematic method for the identification of hazards, risks assessment and
the implementation and monitoring of controls.

• Base HIRARC
• Continuous HIRARC / Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
• Specific HIRARC

Article 15. - The Risk Map is a chart of the work areas, which allows the location,
control, follow-up of the risk-producing agents that cause occupational disease and
incidents, graphically rendering said agents. This risk map must be published on the
work areas.

3.3.5. High Risk Work Permit (HRWP)

Article 16.- A document to authorise and approve the execution of work in high-risk
hazardous areas or locations, which must be in compliance with the relevant current
legal regulations.

3.3.6. Incident Management

Article 17. - Systematic process used by STRACON for collecting and assessing
verbal data and evidence for finding the causes of an unforeseen event that results in
losses, or with the potential to result in losses, in order to conduct the corrective actions
and prevent the occurrence of similar events.

3.3.7. Training

Article 18. - Process used by STRACON for imparting theoretical and practical
knowledge, in order to ensure that our employees are competent in the execution of
the assigned works. Training includes:

• General HSE Induction


• Specific induction to the work area
• Induction for visitors
• Task-specific training
3.3.8. Safety Toolbox Meetings

Article 19. - Daily 5 to 10 minute HSE meetings in the work site, conducted by the
supervisors in favour of the employees, to make them aware of the importance of
complying with the HSE policies, safe work instructions, regulations, legislation, etc.,
in order to safeguard their health and wellbeing.

3.4. Complementary Safety Programs

3.4.1. Top 10 Risks Program

Article 20. - Guidelines used by STRACON to make employees aware of the top 10 risks
within our operations and the controls we use to reduce the risks in the work area.

3.4.2. Road Safety Program

Article 21. - This program has the objective of providing guidelines related to road safety,
establishing the minimum requirements for the safe operation of vehicles and mobile
equipment on the execution of daily activities within the various STRACON projects.

CONCLUTION

These ESTRACON Workplace Health and Safety Regulations are important, and all
employees must comply with the provisions in order to carry out their activities and take
preventive safety measures, and they will be prepared for any situation.
