SAFETY MEASURES
1. Use approved tools, equipment’s and protective devices.
2. Do NOT work under poor light or when you are tired.
3. Do NOT work in damp areas or in wet shoes or clothes.
4. Keep tools and equipment’s clean and in good working condition.
5. Read all instructions carefully before using the appliances.
6. To prevent electrical hazards, DO NOT immerse appliances in water
or Other liquids.
7. Always unplug an appliance before cleaning, or whenever it is not
in use. Ensure that you pull by the plug and not the cord.
8. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
9. Always use an appliance on a dry, level surface.
10. Keep appliances away from heated surfaces and open flames.
11. Check the electric power supply from the switch position.
12. Disconnect: Ensure that all parts of the system requiring
maintenance or repair are disconnected from all possible power sources.
13. Lockout: Secure all switching devices used to activate a part of the
system against re-energizing.
14. Tagout: Attach warning tags to prevent unauthorized switching
actions.

15. Verify: Verify that the system is truly voltage-free before


starting any electrical work.
16. Grounding and short-circuiting: Ground and short-circuit electrical
systems to prevent electrical hazards during maintenance or repair work.
17. Cover or fence off: Cover or fence off live parts to prevent contact
with work materials.
18. Keep electrical equipment away from water: Keep water and other
liquids at least 5 feet away from electrical equipment and sources of
electricity.
19. Unplug equipment safely: Gently pull the plug instead of jerking the
electrical cord when disconnecting electrical equipment.
20. Install properly and tidy electrical cords: Ensure good electrical
installation by keeping fixed electrical equipment and electrical cords
out of the way.
21. Familiarize yourself with your switchboard: Understand how the
switchboard protects and isolates the operator from electrical current and
how it controls the flow of electricity and E.T.C
