DIGITAL LEARNINGS INC.S’ CORPORATE STRATEGY

Visioning

Digital Learnings Inc. is a well-known software company that assists other businesses in
transforming into digital enterprises and equipping employees with digital learning tools.

Establishing Goals

Our Learning Management Software's major goal is to improve the learning process. It
manages not just material delivery, but also course registration, administration, skill gap
analysis, tracking, and reporting.

Deliver what you promise

“We Deliver What We Promise” serves to illustrate the commitment of our management and
staff to provide and deliver the highest standards in our environmental products, solutions and
service levels.

An increased focus on customization and quality customer experience.

We focus on developing relationships with our clients as a “personal touch.” Our custom
software is significant because it allows businesses to satisfy specific needs at a lower cost
than buying, maintaining and altering commercial software. It comes with scalability, low
integration costs and independence. We always have in-house support available to provide a
quality client experience.

Expansion

Digital Learnings Inc. is ready to support tech companies as they continue to globally expand
in the digital age. We're continuing to expand our activities in North America and on other
continents. DLI strives for transcendence in new market developments.

PESTEL ANALYSIS

Political Factors Affecting Digital Learnings Inc.

Austin
 The political climate in Texas is favourable to successful company activities. The state's
easy-to-understand legislations make it straightforward for new businesses to get
started. It's fairly simple to follow state legislation. Because there is less red tape,
entrepreneurs have more time to strategize and expand. There is no corporate income
tax in Texas.
 Except for sole proprietorships, most corporations are liable to the franchise tax. Every
taxable entity formed or running a business in Texas is subject to this privilege tax. The
nature of this tax is determined by the company's legal structure. Franchise taxes are
calculated as a proportion of a company's net value or flat cost. The franchise tax rate is
0.75% of taxable profit margins for most enterprises.

Toronto
 Canada stands out as a model of political and social stability. Canada has 15 free trade
agreements with 51 countries (including all G7) and 1.5 billion consumers. This is a
potential environment where entrepreneurship and business development can grow and
progress.
 The government may enact new tax laws that may alter a company's whole revenue-
generating mechanism.
 The high GDP of Canada is influenced by a few variables, including the people's
entrepreneurial mindset and a strong economy. They're all attracting the attention of
leading businesses and investors from around the world.
 Canada portrays itself as a very good area to do business due to its low crime rate and
reliable policing services.
 The Ontario government is investing in educational technologies and virtual learning to
expand the LMS sector.
 Canadian ICT Companies (information and communications technology) have
opportunities and benefits under CETA, including labour mobility provisions, and access
to the EU market. All EU tariffs on ICT products have been eliminated. It provides ICT
companies to compete with their EU competitors.

Economic Factors Affecting Digital Learnings Inc.

Austin
 Economic factors are inflation and foreign exchange rate (Threat).
 The stability of opening up in the international market of Austin Texas is lucrative and
promising. The population growth is increasing (Opportunity).
 Austin Texas has a population of approximately 1 million people and is known as a tech
hub in central Texas (Opportunity).
 The infrastructure and cost of living is lower than other counterparts in Texas.
 Economic growth rate slower due to Covid-19 impact (Threat).
 The unemployment rate is higher, recruitment will be affected (Threat).
 Government intervention in the international expansion of DLI (Threat).

Toronto
 Economical factors are the inflation rate (Threat).
 The inflation rate can cause our products at DLI to increase yearly to match with the
services and salaries of employees which will affect the cost of production (Threat).
 COVID-19 created job loss and organizations could potentially not afford our services for
the training products (Threat).
 Infrastructure and cost of living are expensive in Toronto and the GTA area (Threat).
 Economic growth rate slower due to Covid-19 (Threat).
 Government intervention in policies/laws (Threat/Opportunities).

Social Factors Affecting Digital Learnings Inc.

Austin
 Starting a business in a new country is difficult, especially considering the social factors.
Setting up an office space would create employment opportunities for the workers as
well as newer recruits.
The labor market across the state weakened from March to April due to the severe and
quick recession induced by state and local governments in response to COVID-19 but it
has picked up post the pandemic being subdued. Texas also ranks below average in
computer ownership and high-speed internet usage, thus there is a great opportunity for
growth in Texas.

Toronto
 DLI as an organization has captured its market in Canada, it has its own client base
which it has already serviced. Canadian work cultures are a little different than the US
work cultures where the initial is more focused on a work-life balance. If organizations in
Canada tend to work for a scheduled hour, they would stick to it unlike that in Texas.
Canada is bilingual with French and English as their major languages, Texas has
English as their primary. Toronto has a relatively lesser population, considering lesser
labour to build up an organization.

Technological Factors Affecting Digital Learnings Inc.

Austin
 According to recent technology research, Texas is the best place to start a business,
and Austin is the seventh-best place to start a business for cities. Austin is now on par
with Silicon Valley, and it may be even better at recovering from the COVID-19 epidemic
from a business standpoint. Major tech companies have relocated their headquarters to
Austin, demonstrating how digitally advanced the city is.
 Digital Learnings Inc. would be able to deploy its software, Learning Management
Systems, in the Austin market and flourish because of the increased desire for
automation and technological advancement (opportunity).
 Such software would not only better substitute human efforts, but it would also lower the
company's labour costs.

Toronto

 Many industries are thriving in Toronto, but technology is one of the most prominent. The
educational system is crucial in this regard. Several public colleges and universities with
a focus on technology and business programs are located in the Greater Toronto Area.
Tech behemoths are relocating or investing in Toronto. In order to eliminate competitors,
the company must improve its products (opportunity & threat).
 Digital Learnings Inc. should not just target IT firms, but it could also expand into the
education sector, as classes have been moved online thanks to Covid, and institutions
should implement a solid Learning Management System to ensure that the quality of
education does not suffer.

Environmental Factors Affecting Digital Learnings Inc.

Austin
 Increased preference for greener products, a focus on corporate sustainability, and the
availability of recyclable materials are all examples of the influence of environmental
challenges in a software-based corporation.
 The corporation might concentrate on manufacturing eco-friendly items. In addition, the
organization should strive to use recyclable materials for its product (in this case,
Learning Management Solutions software) and packaging.

Toronto
 Global warming/climate change affects the business strategies of DLI. If the inclement
weather is severe, employees call in sick/do not show up.
 Waste management costs, recycling costs, and using alternatives such as green or
ecological products for the organization.
 Focusing on spending on renewable technology and recycled policies will better suit the
organization in the long run.

Legal Factors Affecting Digital Learnings Inc.

Austin
 In employment, The Texas Labor Code applies to any disagreements between the
parties, and the collective bargaining agreement is legally binding.
 Federal Social Security (6.2 %) and Medicare (1.45%) must be contributed by employer
and employee. Employers need to pay the federal unemployment tax (Charlette
Beasley, 2021). There is no state or municipal income tax. The minimum wage is $7.25
per hour, which is protected under the Texas Minimum Wage Act (Charlette Beasley,
2021).
 Texas is subject to federal OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act), which covers
the majority of private-sector workers (OSHA, 2020). The health and safety laws are the
Texas Health and Safety Code and the Hazard Communication Act. Workers'
compensation insurance is not legally required (The Hartford, 2022).
 Patents and copyrights are issues of federal law. The Texas Business and Commerce
Code protects registered designs as well as trademarks. The Texas Uniform Trade
Secrets Act provides trade secret protection in civil cases (Clouse, 2019). TUTSA
provisions protect employers from intentional or malicious conduct by employees.
(Clouse, 2019).
 There are no restrictions on agency, distribution, or franchising when it comes to
marketing agreements. Electronic records and signatures are legal and enforceable in e-
commerce under the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (DeMent, 2010). In terms of
data security, violations are punishable under the Texas Penal Code (DeMent, 2010).

Toronto
 The Employment Standards Act (ESA) applies to provincially regulated private
companies and sets minimum standards. ESA includes rules ranging from working
hours, overtime, public holidays, vacations to dismissal.
 The Pay Equity Act addresses gender discrimination in compensation. The Common
Law must also be followed. Mandatory government benefits are Canada Pension Plan
(CPP) and employment insurance. According to WSIB requirements, software publishers
like DLI fall under the information and culture category, and their coverage status is non-
mandatory (Safety Check, 2021).
 The Ontario Human Rights Code gives equal rights to everyone in employment without
any discrimination and harassment (Ohrc, 2022). The OHSA Act’s main objective is to
protect employees from health and safety risks, including cyber security concerns,
including virus threats and phishing emails. Workers’ Compensation Act provides a no-
fault insurance plan to compensate workers.
 DLI is a unionized workplace, so the Ontario Labour Relations Act applies to the
collective agreement between management, union and its employees. The Canadian
Intellectual Property Regime provides software licensing and commercialization. In
addition, Intellectual Property Law protects computer software and trade secrets. The
Electronic Commerce Law safeguards the sale of goods and services via the internet.
