SYLLABUS FOR THE JAMMU AND KASHMIR CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION

(JUDICIAL)

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
There will be two Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Services preliminary exams
which are of objective. This will act as a screening test. The question will
be based on the following subjects:
Negative marking of 0.25 will be deducted in the prelims examination.

PAPER A {Marks: 225, Time Duration: 2 Hours}

• General Knowledge
• Constitution of Indian.
• Criminal Procedure Code,1973.
• Evidence Act, 1872.
• The Indian Panel Code,1860.
• Limitation Act,1963.

PAPER B {Marks:225, Time Duration: 2 Hours}

• Financial Code Volume 1&2

• Kashmir Service Regulation Chapters III to XIII and XXII
and XXIII.
• Rules and orders for the guidance of Subordinate Courts
{Civil and Criminal} and circular orders issued by the High
Court.
• Civil Procedure Code,1908
• Registration Act,1908
• Transfer of Property Act,1882.
• The Jammu and Kashmir Residential and Commercial
Tenancy Act,2012.

 MAINS EXAMINATION
The Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Services mains examination consists of
Compulsory Paper and Optional Paper.

1. COMPULSORY EXAMINATION
Each paper shall carry 100 marks each, Time duration 3 hours
