According to Lisa Scandale Lewis in her study, "Effect of a Commercial

NCLEX-RN Preparation Product on First Time Pass Rates," passing the National Council

Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on the first attempt is crucial for nursing

graduates. A high first-time pass rate is a significant factor for students when selecting a nursing

program. Research shows that students who use NCLEX-RN test preparation products tend to

have higher success rates on their first attempt.

There are many studies research was conducted on students who participated in

the survey, to assess nursing graduates' success with an NCLEX-RN test preparation product on

first-time pass rates on the licensure exam. In 2023, the licensure exam has changed the pattern

of exam which is called NextGen NCLEX, representing significant changes in prior exams.

Furthermore, the NextGen questions include more, new challenges, and a major focus on clinical

judgment for future examiners. The significant changes in items type exam measures mainly

clinical judgment in reality case finding hospital and the way future nurses literally will

experience or think in clinical practice than the prior NCLEX-RN. Lewis, L.S. declares that the

NextGen NCLEX will bring more concern and challenge for many nurse instructors and nursing

students who may not be ready for the new items type of exam and how they are going to

prepare for it. Apart from that, many other factors contribute to many graduate students who are

capable of passing NCLEX-RN, including a procession of policies, nursing program practice,

and study notes. Some nursing program practices help students navigate for NCLEX-RN while
 they are having classes in school. Students test with bank questions and give students practice for

questions that mimic the licensure exam. As a result, students tend to have more opportunities

for testing throughout the program and offer standardized tests. Moreover, the commercial

product for NCLEX-RN preparation is published and updated each year on the market so

students and nurse faculties offer guidance to success, many schools and nurse educators use

multiple questions banks from different commercial test preparatio006E products (Czekanski et

al., 2018; Serembus,2016).

The introduction of the NextGen NCLEX has led to concerns about how students

will prepare for the exam. Key challenges include: familiarity with new items type exam format

and effective use of preparation products. Both students and educators need to become

acquainted with the new question types and the emphasis on clinical judgment. Students often

feel overwhelmed by the multitude of commercial preparation products available. Schools and

instructors should provide clear guidance on how to use these resources effectively.

Passing the NCLEX-RN on the first attempt is vital for nursing graduates. A

combination of robust program policies, practical testing practices, and the strategic use of

commercial preparation products can significantly enhance students' chances of first-time

success on the licensure exam. As the NextGen NCLEX introduces more complex challenges, it

is essential for nursing programs to adapt their teaching methods to better prepare students for

this updated exam format.
