This resource is meant to be an activity for students
using Google Apps, which can be shared into Google
Classroom. Below are basic directions. For more
detailed instructions look on the following pages.

1. On TpT, add the file to your Google Drive. It is

important to add the file to the account that you will
use with students.
2. Open the resource you just added into your Drive.
You can close this right away, but it is important you
open the file.
3. Go to Google Classroom and share the Google file
with students. To do this, create an assignment and
then click on the “Google Drive” logo. Pull in the
purchased resource
4. Click on the dropdown to ensure all students will
receive their own copy of these files and then
assign. This is a very important step to ensure ALL
students receive a copy of the resource.
5. Click assign. Your students will now be able to view
and use this resource.

I hope your kiddos enjoy!

If you have any questions, please let me know. :)

PLEASE NOTE: If you are assigning a Google Form, you do NOT

need to make a copy for each student. Each student receives a
copy by default.

By purchasing and/or downloading this electronic file, you agree to
the terms of use stated below. For personal AND single-classroom
use only. No part of this file may be posted in a public space,

How to Assign with Google Classroom
After purchasing, you
will see a button that
reads, “Add to Google
Drive.” Click this
1 button. The Google
account page will pop
up. Choose the
Google account you
would like this
resource copied into.

It is important for you to

choose the Google account
that you have created your
Google Classroom with. This

2 is most likely your school

account. The resource MUST
be in the same account.

Open the file you wish

to share with students
inside of Google
Classroom. You don’t
need to do anything to
3 the file, just open it
once and then close.
Once again, ensure
that you are in the
correct Google
account before
advancing to the next
step.
How to Assign with Google Classroom

Go to Google
Classroom. Click on
Classwork at the top of
4 the page and then on
“Create.” Then click on
assignment.

When you add an assignment, you

will be asked to choose a file with
your students. Find the file in your
Google Drive by clicking on “add”

5
and then on “Google Drive.”
Because you just opened the
resource in your Google Drive
account, the resource you just
purchased will be directly at the
top. Double click to add this
resource to Classroom.

You have a few options in the

bottom right. If you choose
“Students can edit the file,” they will
be able to edit your original file
(which you most likely don’t want).
The last option is to “Make a copy
for each student.” For most
activities, you want to make sure
you select this option.

6 Now students will be able to work

on this activity on his/her device
without changing your original
document.

Click “Assign” in the top corner.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are assigning a Google Form, you do

NOT need to make a copy for each student. Each student
receives a copy by default.
How to Assign Google Forms with WITHOUT
Google Classroom
1. Open the Google file you want to share with your students.

2. Click on the “SEND” button on the top bar.

3. A pop up will appear giving you the option to share via email, a link or html.
I always choose the LINK option.

4. Post the LINK on your learning management system or learning platform

(Schoology, SeeSaw, Canva, etc…) for students to access.

5. You will still be able to view and access all the data from Google Forms
even if you are not using Google Classroom. Students will need to submit
their work on Google Slides to you via email or through your school’s
learning management system (Schoology, SeeSaw, Canva etc…)
Accessing and Using the Data in Google Forms

When viewing the Google

Form in your Drive, click on
the responses tab on the
top of the form.

This will take you to a

whole class SUMMARY of
how students did on the
assignment.

Click this green icon to

make a spreadsheet
with the data from this
Google Form activity.

You can also view the

data by question or by
individual student.

What individual question data looks like. You can see how many
students got the question correct, and how many got it incorrect (and
what incorrect answer they chose)
Changing the Google Forms Settings

Click on the gear icon to view a

setting pop up screen

Under the general settings, you can choose

whether to limit students to one response, edit
their answers after submitting and more.

Under the presentation setting, you can choose if

you want students to see a progress bar, if you want
to shuffle questions for each student, or change the
confirmation message they see upon completion
and submission.

Under the quizzes setting, you can choose when

students get their grade/score, and whether they
can see missed questions, correct answers, and
point values.
