Classification of Hotels
• Hotels are classified according to the hotel size, location, target markets, levels of service, facilities provided,
number of rooms, ownership and affiliation etc. Besides these classifications hotels are often classified
with the Star, Diamond or Crown system, depending on geographic location.

Rating System
• Hotel stars are a rating system that evaluates the features and amenities available at a hotel to help
guests choose the best hotel for their stay and budget. Whether a customer is looking for a bed for the
night or a luxurious experience, comparing hotels based on their star ratings can narrow down one’s
search according to the features they desire and available price points.
1 Star- Good, better than average
2 Star- Very good
3 Star- Excellent
4 Star- Outstanding
