LumenRT was developed by e-on software, a leader in the field of large-scale 3D landscape scenery for the movie and
entertainment industry. E-on was acquired by Bentley Systems in July, 2015. Please watch the LumenRT Promotional Overview
video to see the high level capabilities that LumenRT offers:

LumenRT provides the ability for users to craft winning, compelling stories by delivering two fundamental capabilities:

(1) Enliven Models with Life and Nature - allows users to infuse designs with fully animated digital nature (e.g. plants, trees,
people, water, weather) which provides a rich environmental context allowing stakeholders to better understand how the
design integrates with its surroundings.

(2) Produce Attention-Getting Visuals - provides rich features for creating eye-popping media (e.g. images, videos, sharable
LiveCubesTM ).

4
LumenRT is seamlessly integrated into all Bentley MicroStation-based products, both V8i and Connect. One button export from the
visualization menu transfers all visible contents in the active view into LumenRT. This includes models, materials, lights, levels,
animations, and BIM information.

5
LumenRT offers numerous features and capabilities that fall under the headings of Light, Life, Nature, Design, and Sharing.

6
LumenRT offers superb cinematic quality, real-time rendering. Unlike older generation offline rendering systems, LumenRT's real-
time visualization provides high-fidelity imagery instantly by leveraging the power of modern-day graphics cards. This allows users
and stakeholders to walk around and explore scenes in real-time, similar to a video game except with much higher quality and
performance. So you don't author something in wireframe or flat shading and then wait an hour to get a nice looking image back.
Instead, everything is done from the get-go with cinematic quality and instant real-time feedback.

7
LumenRT includes a huge library of 3D content for adding life to your scenes including breeze animated plants, animated
characters, moving vehicles, as well as city and street objects.

8
LumenRT offers numerous features for simulating the effects of nature including seasonality, atmospheric effects such as clouds
and haze, a full complement of water bodies with adjustable waves, and the ability to sculpt terrains and add rocks.

9
LumenRT is fully integrated with all Bentley MicroStation-based applications (V8i and Connect). Additionally, LumenRT can import
MicroStation and VISSIM traffic simulations. Finally, LumenRT also works seamlessly with many of the leading CAD/BIM/GIS
systems including Sketchup, Revit, ArchiCAD, and Esri CityEngine.

10
LumenRT offers a number of ways to generate shareable media such as images, videos, and immersive 3D (LiveCubes). A full
featured video editor allows users to easily construct video clips in seconds. LumenRT immersive LiveCubesTM can be published
and shared with any client or colleague.

There are 3 modes of operation for adding objects to a scene:

(1) Single mode adds objects one at a time using the left mouse button. After the object is added, the object manipulation tool
appears.

(2) Multiple mode adds objects consecutively for each mouse click.

(3) Brush mode uses the brush tool to spray objects within the radius of the brush.

19
The object selection tool allows users to manipulate individual objects or groups of objects. There are 3 selection modes:

(1) Single selection mode allows individual selection of a single object by clicking the selection tool and clicking the left mouse
button down over the desired object.
(2) Group selection mode is only available if objects have been added to the scene using the brush (e.g. painting an area of trees).
Double-clicking on a brushed group will select all members of that group.
(3) Multi-select mode allows the selection of multiple objects by holding control key down will selecting object with the mouse.

20
Objects can be transformed, rotated, and scaled using the object manipulation tool. In addition, precise numerical input is
available to key in exact data.
