1.1. Manufacturers liability and obligation


We assume no liability for damage and malfunctions caused as a result of operating errors,
non-compliance with these operating instructions or in appropriate repairs and maintenance.
We expressly point out that only Weiler and accessories approved by us may be used.
For safety reason, the fitting and use of spare parts or accessories which have not approved and
unauthorized modification and conversion of the product are not permitted and exempt Weiler from
liability for damages resulting there from.

Ownwer:
Owners (employer, company) are defined as persons who own the product and who use it
Appropriately or allow it to be operated by suitable and instructed persons.
Operating personnel:
Operating personnel are defined as persons assigned by the owner of the product to operate
the product.
Specialist personnel:
Specialist personnel are defined as persons assigned by the owner to carry out specific tasks. Such as
Installation setting up, maintenance and fault elimination.
 Qualified personnel
Qualified personnel are defined as persons, who, owning to their technical training,
Knowledge and experience as well as knowledge of the relevant standards, are able
to assess the tasks given them and identify and eliminate potential hazards.
 Trained person
Trained persons are defined as person who have been instructed and trained for the tasks
assigned to them and on the possible hazards resulting from incorrect handling and who have
been informed about the required protective devices, protective measures, relevant regulations,
codes of practice, accident prevention regulations and operating conditions and who have
proven their qualifications.
 Experienced technician
Experienced technicians are defined as persons, who, owning to their technical training and
Experience, have sufficient knowledge of the product and are familiar with the relevant national
industrial safety regulations, codes of practice, accident prevention regulations, directives and

1.4. Intended use
This brush cleaner is only to use for cleaning the steel casting bed, oiling the casting bed and
for to move out the pre-stressing wire. This machine can be operate by one person.
1.5. Improper use
It is not allowed to use the saw for moving other machines or materials.
To use the saw for other sawing as the described products that manufacture on the casting bed
is not allowed. The machine may not to be used while hanging on the crane.
The control handle may not to be blocked for “half automatic operate”.
1.6. Protective measures
The machine is equipped with protective covers by cable drum and motors.
These protective covers are used for safety they may not be removed and keep closed while operate
of machine. Further, may not remove the protective covers of electrical equipment, only specialist
personnel may remove this covers.
1.7. Training of personnel
The personnel for operate these machine should be an occupational medical check up to detect
the physical qualification to operate the machine.
The owner of this machine must be training for the personnel who operate the machine and show
all of them the accident risks of the machine while operate and handling the machine.
1.8. Protective measures at operate
While operate the machine the following protective measures may be carefully attended.
The operator of machine must be use eye protection, ear plugs and a dust mask to
protect them of fractions of concrete, dust and machinery noise.
While cleaning cycle may not stay persons directly in hazard area of the brushes.

Special risks are in hazard area of the brushes, therefore the inhabitation may not directly in this area
see special symbols on the machine.
1.10. Leaking of steam, gas or fluid
If hydraulic system leaking oil, shut down and consult a qualified person for maintenance.
1.11. Service and maintenance, clearance of malfunction
Only carry out maintenance, repair and installation work if you are qualified specialist personnel
1.12. Structural alteration of the machine
Structural alteration of the machine is allowed with consultation of company
1.13. Cleaning and disposal
When cleaning the machine, disconnect the power cable always by pulling the main plug.
1.14. Machine noise
Without specially measures, like noise reduced cover noise reduced saw blades, the
noise level is normally during cutting above 85 dbA, therefore it is required to use ear plugs.
1.15. In case of fire
In case of cable fire, disconnect the power cable by pulling the main plug. Then take measure
to fight the fire with proper extinguishing device like powder extinguisher with proper
fire class A, B, C or CO2
1.16. Shutdown in case of emergency
In case of an emergency, push any emergency button, mounted around the machine

2. Package and transportation


2.1. Safety regulations
Before you hang in the crane hook, make sure that the main power plug is pulled.
Caution: The inhabitation under floating load is not allowed.
The bed cleaner can be lift up without extra special lifting equipment, therefore you have to hang on the
hook of the crane into the eye hook. For transportation it is imported that the bed cleaner
hangs horizontal, so you minimize the risk of damage.
2.2. Requirement to competence of personnel
The personnel should be knowledge about attach to hoisting devices.
2.3. Package
You need to fix the cable drum during transportation. Make sure that all loosen parts are fixed.
2.4. Transport
Use generally the lifting eyes provided for transport purposes.
Attend especially that your lifting equipment had enough lifting force.
The machine is to be checked for damages, which have to be recorded on the truckers receipt or
equivalent documents. Otherwise, damages occurred in transit cannot be repaired free of charge,
including under warranty. Damages have to be reported immediately to Weiler GmbH in writing. Weiler
will decide at whose expense such damages should be repaired in a most expedient manner

3. Product description
3.1. General view

3.2. Work place


The work place is located behind the cable drum, where you can operate the machine.
Therefore are steps and handles to reach the operators platform.
Caution: There is no safety chain beside the platform entry.
3.3. Danger area
The danger area is located in area of the brush support. Here is it possible that friction of concrete
and also water shoot out.
Caution: The inhabitation is generally not allowed in working area of the brush support

The identification plate is located on the main frame, right side. Here you can see needed electrical
connection power, dead load, operating voltage, construction year, part number of machine and
type of machine.

4. Bodywork and function


4.1. Machinery
The machine had in front of the hydraulic lifting support for lift up or move down the brush roller
The brush roller and the pot brushes are driven by electrical motors. The in front of installed
support of pot brushes are horizontal and vertical adjustable for to adjust the abrasion of pot brushes.
In rear of machinery is a support to move out the pre-stressing wire and a oil-spray injector.
4.2. Safety arrangement and control
At the control box is located the emergency switch, further a operating control lamp.

4.3. Description of machine functions
For to clean the casting bed move the brush unit down by push button <”M”>
start rotating of the brush roller by push button <”F”>
moves the machine forward by push button <”L”>.
Make sure that the all the brushes are adjusted.

6. Start up the machine


6.1. Safety regulations
The start up can be operated by “qualified personnel” only.
6.2. Requirement to competence of personnel
For the start up the personnel should be have knowledge such as described in chapter 1.3 “Definition”
6.3. Technical documentation

6.4. Installation (before first start up)
6.4.1. Connecting electric power
Make sure that you have the proper voltage and frequency to connect the machine.
Check-up that all electric protective covers are closed and verify that all switches are in
neutral position.
The machine is supplied with electric power by way of a motor driven cable drum, which
automatically holds the trailing power cable in tension. The cross section of the cable should
be at least 4 x 25mm 2 by casting bed length of 120m, if the casting bed length have more than
120m, the cable should be at least 4 x 35 mm 2.
Both voltage and frequency have to be verified prior to hook-up.
At time of shipment the machine, all circuit breaker were opened. Before the main power
plug is hooked-up, please switch on the circuit breaker for motor driven cable drum (F4) and
check-up the correct sense of rotation. If necessary the polarity at the main switch (Q00) has
to be reversed.
After the proper polarity has been ascertained, all other circuit breakers can be activated.
Caution:
 Disconnect generally the main power plug before open the control cabinet.
 After shut down the machine, the frequency converter retains the voltage 15 min.
6.4.2. Start up hydraulic system
The viscosity class depends at outside temperature and should be located by following chart.

We recommended an oil filter with fineness not more than 0,025 mm to be used,
otherwise the oil can be pump in the return filter of hydraulic system.
Note, that dirty hydraulic oil can damage your hydraulic system, it can be make malfunctions
and can bring about arise the oil.
Make sure that all times enough hydraulic oil is in the tank and the fill level is levelling the marker.
Caution:
 If you fill in hydraulic oil less, note that the system suck air, the system doesn’t works,
after short time the pump damage with cavitations malfunction.
The operating pressure is factory-made by 90 bar, it should be changed only after consultation
with weiler company. Use only oils that we recommend (see chart, page previous)
Hydraulic oil is mineral oil based and hazardous to water and flammable.
Use the hydraulic oil only with available safety data sheet and all safety regulations be realised.
In case of oil splash in eye immediately flushing with water 10 to 15 minutes and consult a doctor.
6.5. Acceptance test
During the first start up all functions of machine will be proofed, all settings should be wrote by
test report sheet, that should be, when acceptance, signed by customer.

7. Operate the machine


7.1. Safety regulations (in operate)
The machine can be operated by “operating personnel” only
The operator of the machine should, before start the machine, make sure that all function work
as well and should make a visual check for damage of hydraulic or electrically equipment.
Before you start the machine make sure that all switches in neutral position, same procedure as
well by end of work.
Caution:
 No personnel, while operating the machine, is allowed the inhabitation on casting bed,
where the machine operate.
7.2. Requirement to competence of personnel
For operating, the personnel should be have knowledge such as described in chapter 1.3 “Definition”
7.3. Operate the machine
Cleaning operation
Before you operate with the brush rollers and pot brushes adjust them to the bed width and height.
Move down the brush support with push button <”M”>, the brush support is to move down
approx. 1-2 cm over the casting bed cover after them switch on the brushes with push button <”F”>
and then move down the brush support complete.
Adjust the brushes to the casting bed cover + 1-2 cm so you minimize the abrasion of the brushes.
The hydraulic works only after switch push button <”D”>
Moving operation (without cleaning)
Before you move the machine, without rotating of the brush rollers, make sure that the
brush support is lift up approx. 1 – 2 cm over the casting bed cover.
Operation for move out wire and spraying oil
The operation of move out the wire should be operate irrespective of cleaning operation, it means
don’t operate cleaning and pull out the wire together.
Before you pull out the wire make sure that the brush support is complete lift up.
Fix the wire at the wire support at rear of the machine and move out the wire to production direction.
After pull out the wire, hung in the wire in the support under the fixing support, the wire should be not
spraying with oil. To operate with the oiling device switch the push button <”H”>

9. Storage of machine
9.1. Safety regulations
If you shut down the concrete saw, it should be generally disconnect the main plug.
The Hydraulic system should be with out pressure.
9.2. Requirement to competence of personnel
The shut down of machine should be done by „qualified personnel“
9.3. Requirement of storage
If the shut down is for longer time as 24 months, you have to be special corrosion prevention
