Lesson 3: Printmaking with Natural Objects

Learning Competency: Identify natural objects with repeated or alternated shapes,
colors and materials that can be used in print making

 I can recognize the natural objects that can be use in printmaking.
 I can create an image or design in printmaking using natural objects.

Printmaking
- A simple yet interesting way of producing several prints of
an image or design.

Natural Objects
- Are the objects that you can use in printmaking like
flowers, leaves, carve fruit and vegetable.

ACIVITY 4

Instructions: Make a print using flowers, leaves, carve fruits or vegetable


(choose only one). Read and follow the steps carefully.

What you will need:


 Old newspaper/ Manila paper
 Flowers, leaves, carve fruits or vegetable (choose one)
 Pencil or marker
 Paper towel or tissue
 Poster paint (any color)
 Paper plate
 Oslo paper
Steps:
1. Cover your working area with sheets of old newspaper. Then set your
materials on the table.
2. Pour the fabric paint onto the paper plate.
3. Dip the natural object that you chose to the paint. Make sure that the
raised surface is completely covered with paint.
4. Transfer the design by stamping it on the piece of paper.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the entire part of the paper is covered with
prints.
6. Let the paint dry. When you are done ask yourself the following
question.
 Have I created an interesting design using natural objects?

Conclusion
 Why do we need to learn how to use natural objects in
printmaking?
