Heart Anatomy:

Chambers:

Atria: Upper chambers that receive blood.


Ventricles: Lower chambers that pump blood out of the heart.
Valves:
Tricuspid Valve: Between the right atrium and right ventricle.
Bicuspid or Mitral Valve: Between the left atrium and left ventricle.
Pulmonary Valve: Between the right ventricle and pulmonary artery.
Aortic Valve: Between the left ventricle and aorta.
2. Blood Vessels:
Arteries:
Carry oxygenated blood (except pulmonary artery).
Major arteries include the aorta and pulmonary arteries.
Veins:
Carry deoxygenated blood (except pulmonary veins).
Major veins include the superior and inferior vena cava.
Capillaries:
Microscopic vessels connecting arteries and veins.
Site of nutrient and gas exchange with tissues.
Systemic Circulation:

Oxygenated blood pumped to the body's tissues.


Deoxygenated blood returns to the heart.
Pulmonary Circulation

:Deoxygenated blood pumped to the lungs.


Oxygenated blood returns to the heart.
