I am writing to express my enthusiastic interest in the Software Engineering internship
position at Jane Street. As a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in
Production and Industrial Engineering at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology,
Allahabad, I am excited about the opportunity to apply my programming skills and problem-
solving abilities at Jane Street.
The description of Jane Street’s internship program resonates deeply with me. I am
particularly drawn to the opportunity to work on real-world projects under the mentorship of
experienced professionals. Jane Street’s list of requirements genuinely made me feel that this
is an ideal place where I’d like to work and learn. I am an individual who loves to take on
challenges and enjoys problem-solving. Even though my curriculum in Production
Engineering does not comprise many technological subjects, my interest and passion for
computer science have driven me to continuously develop and learn skills in this field. I have
a solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms in Java and have gained web
development skills through various side projects.
During my academic journey, I have consistently demonstrated my ability to think critically
and learn quickly. I am also an automobile enthusiast and am currently working on a team
project for an E-cycle as part of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). Additionally, my
involvement in the Rotaract Club has allowed me to focus on the social well-being of the
needy as well as environmental issues. I have helped organize numerous drives such as cloth
donation, blanket donation, and book donation to the needy. Recently, we organized a blood
donation camp on our college campus, collecting 100 units of blood for a blood bank. All
these experiences have fostered my communication and leadership skills.
I am particularly impressed by Jane Street’s commitment to fostering curiosity and
continuous learning. The diverse range of projects, from high-performance trading systems to
programming language design, offers an excellent platform for me to apply my knowledge
and gain a comprehensive understanding of the field. I am eager to embrace the learning
opportunities presented by Jane Street, ask questions, admit mistakes, and grow both
personally and professionally.
I am excited about the possibility of contributing to Jane Street and learning from some of the
brightest minds in the industry.
