LOCO MODULE:

Spongy bone and Compact bone:

- The following sample consist of both
spongy and compact regions of bone.
- Differentiated from their appearance of
harvesian system/osteons.
- Spongy bine will have distorted lamellae
with more space in between and large
harvesian cannals.
- Compact region will comprise of small
harvesian cannal. Well developed
lamellae.
- Lacunae can be seen in both regions.
LOCO MODULE:

Hyaline Cartilage:
- Bluish, glassy appearance.
- Fibers are present (little to no appearance
because of being in dissolved state).
- Chondrocyte in the form of isogenous
groups.
- Lacunae around cells.
- Pericellular matrix around lacunae and
territorial matrix around pericellular. The
whole light blue stained area is inter
territorial matrix.
LOCO MODULE:

Elastic Cartilage :
- Unclear ECM with brownish appearance
(possibly due to fiber stains)
- Reticular and elastic fibers clearly visible.
- Presence of chondrocytes.
- Presence of Perichondrium
LOCO MODULE:

Vertebral disc`s fibrocartilage:

Fibrocartilage :
- Bundles of collagen fibers.
- Chondrocytes lying in rows between
fiber bundles.
BLOOD MODULE:

Palatine Tonsils:
- Crypts (folding of surface epithelium)
- Lymphoid follicles visible plus most of
them contains germinal centers.
- Capsule of dense connective tissue
BLOOD MODULE:

Lymph Nodes:
- Lymphoid follicles (primary and secondary)
- Follicles surrounding inner darker area
(medullary cords)
- Germinal center in secondary follicle.

- Best represented in figure 14.6 of Laiq

histology.
BLOOD MODULE:

Thymus:
- Septa dividing parenchyma into
incomplete lobules.
- Outer Darker cortex.
- Inner lighter medulla.
- Hassall's corpuscles in middle of medulla
BLOOD MODULE:

Spleen:
- Large amount of RBCs
- Presence of red and white pulp
- Presence of germinal center of lymphoid
follicle in white pulp
- Splenic sinusoids and splenic cords
FOUNDATION MODULE:
