The chart give information about obesity rate in nine OECD nations from

1970 to 2020 as well as predicting future numbers.

As we can see from the chart, the overweight rate does not start at the same
year, beginning with USA, by near 1970, the percentage of overweight people was
around 45%. In the next 10 years, the figure fell slightly to 42%. From this point,
there was a rapidly increase, reaching 75% in 2020, which is the highest rate of this
chart. Latter than USA, Australia and England started at the same year, 1990. While
England followed the same pattern with USA and ended up at the second-highest
overweight rate about 68%, Australia began at top 7 and made up to the top 3 in
ranking position, the number almost double from 32% to 63% in over 30 years.

Korean arrived latest and lowest number in nine selected country. By the end
of 90’s, the proportion of overweight people in korea was 25%. This was followed
by a gradual rise to 30% in 2010 and predicting to 35% in the 10 following years.

In conclusion, there was a upward trend in all of selected coutries over 50


years. Among them, USA, England and Australia had higher overweight growth rate
the other countries.
