 demonstrate how underwater earthquakes generate tsunamis
 differentiate the epicenter of an earthquake from its focus; intensity of an earthquake
from its magnitude; active and inactive faults
 explain how earthquake waves provide information about the interior of the earth

Delivery
I. Before (10 minutes)
A. Daily Routine
1. Prayer
2. Checking of attendance and uniform
3. Checking of cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom

B. Recapitulation
The teacher calls and asks random students to recall some of the terminologies and
definitions about the previous discussion.

C. Motivation
The teacher presents a video about a street performer manipulating a slinky toy and asks
random students about the following questions:

2. What did you notice about the movement of the slinky toy?
II. During (35 minutes)

The teacher uses the following question to discuss the lesson.
 What kind of wave is released by an earthquake?
 What are the types of seismic waves?
 What are the body waves and surface waves?
 What is the difference between P-wave and S-wave?

III. After (5 minutes)

lesson.
