subset of natural sciences that deals with the composition, structure, and properties of matter; applied to some aspect of life, it's usually called forensic chemistry
Criminology is a science that studies the human
actions that lead to crime. My future profession will be linked closely with chemistry and criminology, because both fields use basic scientific principles to explain behavior and identify criminal activity. Chemistry can be used to determine whether something is harmful or dangerous. Criminologists can use chemistry in their questioning of defendants at trial and help judges make informed decisions about punishment. Chemistry can also be an important part of crime prevention strategies by preventing harmful substances from entering our environment. Chemistry will play a role in protecting us from illegal substances such as drugs or poisons. Chemistry may also help solve a crime if traces of a poisonous substance are found on a gun used in an attack; thus allowing police to trace the weapon back to where it came from."
"It takes a lot more than just the scientific
method to be a great criminal profiler. You need to be able to decipher an unknown suspect and relate it back to their persona."
