BEARINGS

When you want to move from one position to another, you not only need to know how far you
have to travel but you need to know the direction. One way of describing directions is the
bearing. BEARINGS MEASURE DIRECTIONS OF ANGLE OF MOVEMENT.

Three important features of Bearings-

a. All bearings are measured clockwise.

b. All bearings are measured from the north direction.
c. Bearings are written in three digits.

A bearing can be described as an angle that is measured clockwise from the north.

Write the bearing of B from A-

Back bearings
i. write the bearing of Y from X
ii.work out the bearing of X from Y
a. Write the bearing of B from A.
b Work out the bearing of A from B.
c Show that the bearing of C from B is 110
