Purpose
Job Purpose

Strong background in corporate litigation especially in energy sector , exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to effectively
manage legal affairs across various departments within the organization. This role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer and
requires proactive engagement in litigation strategy development, risk assessment, commercial contracts drafting and compliance
management. The position is also responsible for liaisoning with senior counsels, drafting legal documentation as to protect legal
interests of the Company

1. Engage with the legal and business teams to understand the issues and and subsequent Legal Advisory. Provide expert
legal opinion and guidance to senior management and department heads on corporate legal matters, including but not
limited to contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.

2. Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements,
licensing agreements, service contracts, and other corporate documents to ensure compliance with legal requirements
and mitigate risks.

3. Corporate Governance: Oversee corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder communications,
and regulatory filings. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

4. Risk Management. Identify legal risks and propose strategies to mitigate them. Develop and implement risk management
policies and procedures to protect the organization's interests and minimize exposure to legal liabilities.

5. Litigation Management: Manage litigation matters, including disputes, claims, and lawsuits. Collaborate with external
counsel as necessary and oversee legal proceedings to achieve favorable outcomes for the organization.

6. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization's operations. Develop and
implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal requirements and ethical standards.

7. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and
capabilities.

Experience & Educational Requirements

Educational Qualifications • LL.B / LL.M

• Minimum of 15+ years of experience practicing corporate law, with a focus on


contract negotiation, corporate governance, and compliance.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a
team of legal professionals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex legal
issues and provide practical solutions.
Experience • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate
legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
and effectively manage multiple priorities.
