WHAT : Apprehension of Mangrove trees, Backhoe and other equipment

WHERE : Legazpi City, Albay

WHEN : August 1, 2023

WHO : Bert B. Dimaculangan, Gilbert Mariano, and Dario S. Hipos

WHY : Cutting mangrove/bakawan trees without the necessary permit issued by the
DENR through the CENRO during their construction of an anti-flood project
near the coastal road of Legazpi, City, Albay

HOW : Apprehension was taken during the conduct of surveillance and foot
patrolling activity in Legazpi City,

Remarks : The apprehended mangrove trees were taken by Apprehending

officer, Anton Dominguez, to this office for the depth investigation.

Recommendation : The team recommends to conduct Administrative Adjudication

Proceedings (AAP) pursuant to DAO 97-32 inviting all parties
involved to shed light surrounding the matter.
