La Fifa Kafirli
Long time ago in Hu’u, Dompu, Sumbawa Island, lived an old couple with their
beautiful daughter namely La Fifa Kafirli. Many nobleman wanted to marry her, but she only fell
in love to La Luma, son of Galara Puma. Every day La Fifa Kafirli played with her pet, a buffalo
that she rised from calf.
One day, one of nobleman named Galara Dafa proposed La Fifa Kafirli. Father asked
La Fifa Kafirli whether she wanted to marry La Tafa son of Galara Dafa or not. Her daughter
rejected to marry La Tafa because she only wanted to marry La Luma son of Galara Puma.
Knowing that, Galara Dafa and La Tafa were very ashamed and angry. They wanted to kill La
Luma and his father. The parents of Fifa Kafirli also very ashamed to what happened. They
apologized Galara Tafa but he rejected. He still wanted to come to Galara Puma’s house to kill
him and his son La Luma.
Realizing that, La Fifa Kafirli was very sad. She wanted to avoid the bloodshed
between Galara Dafa and Galara Puma. She then rode her buffalo away into the middle of the
ocean and disapeared forever.
