ADT E# HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TEST ACTIVITY:

Given a Bell E-series ADT and a hydraulic pressure gauge, record the pressures below based on each
situation:

CANDIDATE NAME:____________________________________________ DATE: ________________

CANDIDATE SIGN: __________________ FACILITATOR SIGN:___________________

No. Situation: ON CDU ON GAUGE

System Brake Brake MP1 M4 PS
Circuit Circuit
1 2
1. Machine is off:

2. Machine is idling (no functions being used

and brakes are charged):

3. Access the main hydraulic pump and adjust

the residual pressure down to 25 Bar. (Done? Yes or No)__________

4. Insert steering locking pin and turn steering

full lock left:

5. Insert steering locking pin and turn steering

full lock right:

6. Is there a major difference between left and

right on MP1? (YES or NO)__________

7. With the residual set to a lower 25 Bar, did it (Yes or No and give a reason):
affect the steering pressures compared to _____________________________________
that of the spec? _____________________________________
_____________________________________

8. Re-adjust the residual spool back to its

original specification. (Done? Yes or No)__________

9. Pump the brakes until the pump strokes in,

note maximum pressure obtained before the
pump goes back to residual:

10. Connect the gauge to one of the test points

on the accumulator pipes. Pump the brakes
and test for lower charge limit. Record this __________Bar
lower limit.

11. Remove the BCS plug and check what the

pressure will.
12. With the BCS plug removed, did anything (Yes or No and give a reason):
happen after 2 minutes of the pump _____________________________________
remaining stroked in? _____________________________________
_____________________________________

13. Switch off the machine, discharge the brakes

and then start the machine, what happens
and why?

13. Refit the BCS plug and start the machine.

14. With the brakes fully charged, unscrew XB
valve OUT by four full revolutions. Now pump
the brakes until they recharge and record the
pressures.

15. What happened?

16. Rectify XB valves pressure. (Done? Yes or No)__________

17. With the machine working 100%, test for
pump compensating pressure.
18. Unplug the hydraulic return filter sensor. What happens and why?_________________

19. Record the following, using the CDU. 1. Bin up current __________mA
2. Bin down current __________mA
3.Bin float current ____________mA

20. Adjust the main relief valve to 300 Bar
