Trigger Announcements Plugin

About this plugin


Trigger Announcements is in charge to trigger some events on your flight and catch it to play
differents announcements related to triggered events.

Trigger Announcements is based and tested for the BSS Flight Factor A320 Ultimate Sound
Pack v1.5 (and greater) and Baby Bus Symphony A319 BSS CFM soundpack for Toliss
A319 and A321, but I think that you can used all datarefs generated by the trigger in all others
plugins or applications developed for playing announcements.

The different events triggered are:

- Boarding: welcome music or other message (as you want).


- Boarding Done: announce for end boarding.
- Pushback: announce for Flight attendant to verify doors.
- Welcome: announce for welcome.
- Safety: Safety message.
- Before takeoff: Takeoff announce (every time).
- Before takeoff on day: Takeoff announce (on day only).
- Before takeoff on night: Takeoff announce (on night only).
- Climb: announce for climbing.
- Cruise: announce for cruise.
- Descent: announce for descent.
- Before Landing: Landing announce (every time).
- Before Landing on day: Landing announce (on day only).
- Before Landing on night: Landing announce (on night only).
- After Landing: Arrival announce after landing.
- Arrival Cross Check: Cross check announce on gate for doors.
- Arrival: announce for arrival (at gate/parking).
- Turn Around: No announce. Ready for turn around or secure your plane.

Trigger Announcements also triggered:

- Turbulence event for turbulence announcement on cruise.


- Night condition: if you want to play specific sound for night or day or both.
Trigger Datarefs
Trigger Announcements add new datarefs in your plane:

- sim/operation/sound/people_volume_ratio: Only to set people sound on JARDesign


3D Sound Engine in sound.cfg file.
- sim/announcement/weather/night: trigger night (1) / day (0) conditions for night/day
conditioned announcements.
- sim/announcement/sound/boarding: trigger boarding announcement (welcome music
or other).
- sim/announcement/sound/boarding_done: trigger End Boarding announcement.
- sim/announcement/sound/pushback: trigger doors closed and announce for flight
attendant to verify doors (Push Back).
- sim/announcement/sound/welcome: trigger Welcome announcement.
- sim/announcement/sound/safety: trigger Safety announcement.
- sim/announcement/sound/before_takeoff: trigger Before Takeoff announcement.
- sim/announcement/sound/before_takeoff_day: trigger Before Takeoff announcement
on day only.
- sim/announcement/sound/before_takeoff_night: trigger Before Takeoff announcement
on night only.
- sim/announcement/sound/climb: trigger climb announcement.
- sim/announcement/sound/cruise: trigger cruise announcement.
- sim/announcement/sound/descent : trigger descent announcement.
- sim/announcement/sound/before_landing: trigger Before Landing announcement.
- sim/announcement/sound/before_landing_day: trigger Before Landing announcement
on day only.
- sim/announcement/sound/before_landing_night: trigger Before Landing
announcement on night only.
- sim/announcement/sound/after_landing: trigger arrival announcement (after landing).
- sim/announcement/sound/arrival_cross_check: trigger doors cross check
announcement on gate.
- sim/announcement/sound/arrival: trigger arrival announcement (on gate).
- sim/announcement/sound/turbulence: trigger turbulence announcement on cruise.

The sim/announcement/weather/night can replace current base_drf in your sound.cfg file like
this:

How it work
The plugin work only from Dark and Cold mode. All steps are triggered automatically during your
flight.

Step 0: Plane is in Dark and Cold


Step 1: Power On you plane, the fan working and you hear it in your cabin. Open the Left
Door ad push Emergency Exit to Auto (first position). This is the Boarding step.
Step 2: Boarding is finished, push the SeatBelts to On. This is the end of boarding (Boarding
Done step).
Step 3: Close all doors manually, or from pushback with Better Push Back plugin. The Step is
triggered only on the Left Door. This is the Pushback step.
Step 4: Push Beacon to On (Left door needs to be closed). This is the Welcome step.
Step 5: Push Nose to Taxi (first position) and start to driving your plane with a speed greater
than 3 knots. This is the Safety step.
Step 6: This step is triggered on night/day/both conditions (like you want). This is the Before
Takeoff step.
Step 7: This step is triggered by altitude and only if you passed the 300ft, after takeoff. This is
the Climb step.
Step 8: This step is triggered by altitude and vertical speed. If your altitude are greater than
FL110 and vertical speed ~= 0. This is the Cruise step.
Step 9: This step is triggered by altitude and vertical speed. If your altitude are less than
FL240 and vertical speed is negative. This is the Descent step.
Step 10: This step is triggered on night/day/both conditions (like you want) with altitude less
than 1500ft.This is the Before Landing step.
Step 11: Push Nose to Taxi. This step is triggered by ground touching, and speed less than 10
knots. This is the After Landing step.
Step 12: Arrival on the gate, push Beacon to Off. This is the Arrival Cross Check step.
Step 13: Push Nose to Off. This is the Final Arrival step.
Step 14: Push SeatBelts to Off and open left door. This is the Turn Around step.

In Step 14 you can:

- Set your plane in Dark and Cold mode: Power Off your plane (All fan are Off). Go to the
Step 0.
- Restart a flight: Use plugin menu and select Departure – Boarding. Left door needs to
be opened. Go to the Step 1.

Turbulence is triggered by SeatBelts in Off position, on Cruise Step (Step 8). The sound are
played 3 minutes after cruise sound to not mix the sounds between them.

Remarks
- All steps are very important to set. If you forget a step, you cannot go to the next step
automatically.
- The plugin require to start your flight in Cold and Dark mode, or by selected step in the
plugin menu.
- The plugin can work if you start a flight in altitude (start flight in approach mode for
example or if you resume a flight from backup). For this you need to select the
appropriate step in the plugin menu.
- The plugin are tested with BSS Flight Factor A320 Ultimate Sound Pack v1.5 (and
greater) and Baby Bus Symphony A319/A321 BSS CFM soundpack.
- The plugin was developed and tested on Microsoft Windows 10 only.
- The plugin require Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 libraries (only on Microsoft platform).
- The plugin was compiled on Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.4 with OSX 10.9 support.
- The plugin are tested with JARDesign 3D sound engine demo (http://jardesign.org/3d-
sound-engine/).
- If you forget a step, or you resume a flight from a backup, you can change the current
step with plugin menu, and all others step will be triggered automatically.
How to change step manually
Now, you can change the current step by choosing a new one by the Plugin menu.

Departure – Boarding (Step 1): Require to set SeatBelts to Off


Departure – Boarding Done (Step 2): Require to open Left Door
Departure – Pushback (Step 3): Require to set Beacon to Off
Departure – Welcome (Step 4): Require to set Nose to Off
Departure – Safety (Step 5): Require to set Nose to Taxi
Departure – Before Takeoff (Step 6): No requirement
In flight – Climb (Step 7): No requirement
In flight – Cruise (Step 8): No requirement
In flight – Descent (Step 9): Altitude > 1500ft
In flight – Approach (Step 10): Require to set Nose to To
Arrival – After Landing (Step 11): Require to set Beacon to On
Arrival – Cross Check (Step 12): Require to set SeatBelts to On
Arrival – At Gate (Step 13): Require to set SeatBelts to Off

Notice: Plane needs to be powered to change steps.


Installation
- Unzip trigannouncements archive and copy the Resources\plugins directory in your X-
Plane root folder.
- Configure the BSS Flight Factor A320 Ultimate Sound Pack v1.5 or Baby Bus
Symphony A319/A321 BSS CFM soundpack or JARDesign 3D sound engine. You
can help you with samples files to configure sound.cfg file.
- Unzip afr_sounds_pack archive for Air France announcements and copy the content of
afr_sounds_pack\people in your BSS people sounds directory and copy sample for
sound.cfg file in the same directory (Optional).

Update from old version


- Remove old version and replace it with the new one and follow the installation process.

This is a sound.cfg file for Air France flight announcements, but you can change all afr_sound
files by your company’s sound.

If you flying on another company, you can configure the plugin with your own sounds.

Remark: all sounds needs to be converted in mono for BSS plugin.

JARDesign 3D sound engine demo plugin configuration
Installation

- Unzip the sound3d_pack.zip in your FlightFactor A320 ultimate plugin directory.


- Create a people directory in the sound3d directory and copy all of your sounds and the
sound.cfg file explain in the Sound.cfg configuration file sample for BSS FFA320 U
Sound Pack section.

Configuration

Declare the sound directory at the end of the set.ini file in the root of directory sound3d plugin.

The JARDesign does not have interface to set sound volume, it's only based on sounds datarefs.

You also need to update in the sound cfg file the following line.
