Checking of voting machine
That the control unit (CU) and the ballot unit (BU) and VVPAT) are the same
which are meant for use at your polling station. This shall be checked with
reference to the address tags attached to the said units as the number and
name of the polling station shall be indicated by the Returning Officer on
each of those address tags.

• Candidate set portion & Battery compartment portion of CU
is duly sealed
• Ballot Paper duly fixed under screen (acrylic sheet) of BU is
properly aligned.
• Check BU’s thumb wheel position.(Postion-01)
• Blue buttons in BU are equal to no of contesting candidate
including NOTA are unmasked and remaining should be
masked.
• BU is properly sealed with address tag including pink paper
seal (TWO PART).
• VVPAT’s Paper Compartment is Duly sealed.

POLLING AGENTS -POLL DAY ARRANGEMENTS

⚫ Each candidate can appoint one Polling Agent & two


relief agents

⚫ Shall be residents and electors in the same PS or from


the neighbouring PS falling under the same
constituency

⚫ Must have EPIC

POLLING AGENTS ⚫ Receive Appointment Letter issued by Candidate or


Election Agent in Form 10 (compare the specimen
signature and check whether that appointment letter is
for your PS)

⚫ Polling Agents should sign the declaration in presence


of PRO before being admitted to PS

Place BU & VVPAT in actual Voting Compartment. These should not be


moved after mock poll.

Place CU on Table of Presiding Officer / Polling Officer (in charge of CU)

Connect cable of BU with VVPAT and Cable of VVPAT with CU

Change the VVPAT to “working mode” by switching the Paper Roll knob

After mock poll, press ‘CLOSE’ button of CU

Thereafter, press ‘RESULT’ button of CU to ascertain mock poll result and
