POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE (PCC) for FOREIGN NATIONALS

The foreigners, who are residing in India or have resided earlier in India, may
require Police Clearance Certificate. For this purpose, a foreigner has to apply online
through <add link https://indianfrro.gov.in/frro/> according to his/her present or
previous Indian address.

The online application will automatically be routed to the jurisdictional


Foreigners Regional Registration Office i.e. FRRO, Kolkata

The FRRO will process the case and after scrutiny & verification, issue the PCC
through online e-FRRO system.

Afterwards the foreigner applicant will receive the PCC from the concerned
Foreigners Regional Registration Office.

POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE (PCC) for INDIAN Nationals willing to go abroad for
Employment and some other specific purpose

Indian nationals who are willing to go abroad for Employment or some specific
purpose, may apply for POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE, if required by the VISA
Issuing Authority of that country, in proper format and send the filled in application
form with relevant documents to the concerned police authorities i.e. local SP, DIB in
case of Districts and Dy. Commissioner, Special Branch in case of Police
Commissionerates.

Applicant, whose address falls under the jurisdiction of KOLKATA POLICE or


BIDHANNAGAR POLICE area, may apply ONLINE through
Kolkata Police Website < https://pcc.kolkatapolice.org/ >
OR Bidhannagar Police Website < http://pccbidhannagarpolice.nic.in>
Applicant, staying under the jurisdiction of West Bengal Police, may
apply to the DC, Special Branch or DSP, DIB of Commissionerate and
District Police respectively.

On receiving the application along with copies of supporting documents, the


concerned police authority will issue the PCC to the applicants accordingly.

Note: - One extra copy of the Photograph and a Photocopy of his/her Passport should be enclosed by the applicant
along with his/her application.
INDIAN Nationals staying at foreign countries, may also require POLICE
CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE (PCC) abroad for immigration purpose or during
visit to third country (apart from India)

In such case POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE is issued to the eligible Indian


nationals/emigrants for the purpose of Immigration and Employment in that
particular country, by concerned Indian Embassy/Consulate/High Commission. For
this purpose, the applicant has to apply for PCC to the concerned Indian Mission
abroad through the web portal of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India
namely

Police Clearance Certificate is NOT issued to any applicant from the Foreigners
Branch of Home & Hill Affairs Department as per Govt. order.
