Detailed Legend

S: Surveillance Point. Does not require specific notification to Owner by Contractor.

Monitoring or observing to verify whether an item or activity conforms to specified
requirement could be checked by Owner during the course of erection/construction.

R: Report Review Point. Review of Contractor' documentation. Contractor is required to

prepare a certificate or documents attesting to satisfactory performance of the related

W: Witness Point. Requires notification to the Owner by the Contractor. Upon proper
written notification by the Contractor to the Owner, work may proceed beyond a
Witness Point with or without action by the Owner. Contractor will submit Inspection
Request (IR) or inspection schedule to Owner for the items to be witnessed by Owner.
If Owner fails to participate in the test and inspection according to the IR or inspection
schedule, Contractor may proceed with the inspection as per the schedule without the
presence of Owner.

H: Hold Point. Verification points beyond which work may not proceed until the Contractor
notifies the Owner and the Owner performs verification and gives notice to the
Contractor to proceed. Downstream construction and activities shall not proceed without
attendance or written approval of Owner.
